+ 1 YouTube clip by PT specialist and 910lb bench-presser for SHOULDER INJURY treatment
Anyone expriencing shoulder pain - here's a 2-minute video blog by record holding bench presser Donnie Thompson (910 pounds) - compression technique - untweak your shoulder using these techniques.
If it works for a guy that benches 910 pounds, we all might want to look into it.
This is hyperlinked off of my favorite rehab guy I mentioned earlier.
Guys, use these - fuck being old and broken - I will do whatever weird ass shit these guys run if it works for them, and avoid the pain and injury while increasing strength.

*This blog is intended as a jump off point for athletes to systematically begin to address their nasty tissues and grody joint mobility. Use at your own risk and stop if you think it's gonna hurt you, your spine is going to come out your throat, or your face goes numb. But, understand that you should be responsible for your own business. Don't wait until you need a new knee. Pony up.

angusI use a similar technique that I figured out all on my own that strengthens the shoulder and stretches it out. Mine was born from necessity though. Doesn't make me smart, just desperate. But it makes me feel good that I came close to the same conclusion.
+1 from me too, good stuff.
LaTTTimer99Thanks Brother, that's crazy you figured out on your own a similar treatment.
Have you ever tried any band training on bench? It's hard to find the right tension - but I am a big fan of band / chain training - adds resistance at the point of the lift where you're at your strongest, and drops resistance when it's mainly shoulders.
Thanks Big A!
AnonI cant believe what I just saw. I was thinking I wish I was right there with them right now. I would have never thought about the compression bandage on my own. I had to go to the bath room and get some Ben Gay and put on my shoulders. Where can you get those bands? I have only seen them when I was doing PT.
+1 and a favorite by the way
LaTTTimer99My favorite thing about this guy (K-Star) is that almost all of his treatments can be done for free - and he shows you how. He does make and sell a line of equipment, and compression bands, BUT what's cool about this guy is he tells you straight up you really don't even need to buy it -
You can purchase bicycle tire inner tubes, cut it in half, remove the air-intake stem, and boom you've got a compression wrap. Bike tire inner tubes work just as good - the key is you have to wrap that shit TIGHT - and do the movements.
I used the compression wrap on my knees (wrap tight as possible and do 3 sets of 40 bodyweight squats) to get rid of some knee trouble I was having. Since then I've been good to go - still hurts occasionally, but really what this does is free up that stale tissue - and use heat over ice - ice is anti-inflammatory, which restricts blood-flow. Yes it reduces swelling, but what K-Star is saying is that you WANT swelling - you want your body's natural cleansing system (bloodflow) to get in there and evacuate the grody stuff.
Also, I posted this on another thread, but check into MSM - it's joint sulfur, works really well, and is only $11.99 for a 2-month supply on bodybuilding.com. The cleanest brand I found is NOW. I'd also switch from BenGay to Celadrin - NOW makes an MSM topical lotion that includes Glucosamine and Celadrin - same analgesic effect as Ben Gay but also actually heals the area not just reduces the pain.
Good luck!
AnonWe have a never ending supply of personal trainers at the gym and depending on the price I may have to hire one just to help me with the wraps and stuff. I would go to physical therapy but I don't know if my insurance would cover it, plus sitting around waiting seems to take a whole day and getting a good therapist is hit and miss.
LaTTTimer99No need bro! Save your money. You can put these on yourself - or have your girl do it or one of your buddies. These aren't really for doing at the gym anyways - I guess you could do it there if you really wanted to, but I'd be very skeptical that the trainers have heard of or know about compression wrapping - most of these guys aren't really trained in injury treatment - some might be good, it just would surprise me.
