How does HGH cause diabetes?
ad
I've heard this is possible..read it on some online medical reports but I still don't know how or why or if it's even true?
If it is possible to develop diabetes...what preventative measures (other then not taking it at all) are there to not letting this happen?
Thanks!
My rat is appreciative!

I have been taking between 1 and 2iu daily for more than 2 years and have seen a small but significant rise in my fasting blood sugar over this time. I have recently been taking a small daily dose of metformin to try and mitigate any further insulin resistance issues.
How do you take the last 2 years your hgh, how many time elapse between meals?
just received my HGH and about to start a six month course. Can anybody give me some advice on how long to wait after injecting before eating or is this just a fallacy. I will doing 2iu daily ( 5on / 2 off )
Read Karl's post below.
HGH and insulin are protein hormones that bind to cell membrane/surface receptors. Thus, they compete with each other for the same receptors.
Intake of supra physiological amounts of gh will out compete insulin for these receptor sites. In response, the body will begin producing larger doses of insulin via the pancreas to control blood sugar levels. The cells responsible for insulin production in the pancreas will become inefficient with continued stimulation over prolonged periods, thus potentially making someone diabetic.
To mitigate this, it may help to split injections into smaller doses spread through the day and always take a couple of days off every week.
This is simply invalid info, GH and insulin have completely different receptors, and do not compete with each other on the same receptors, GH and insulin have completely different functions, traits and mechanism,
I repeat on my explanation -
GH is a stress hormone, its main metabolic functions includes releasing glucose and fatty acids into the circulation. The abrupt high levels of glucose which high dosage GH induce overload the pancreas with time, which leads to insulin resistance = type 2 diabetic. In most cases this is reversible when GH is stopped from being used
IGF1 (Somedin) is a proper remedy in this case as it negates the lowering effect on insulin sensitivity GH causes

------------conclusions -
GH and IGF-I combined further enhanced fat oxidation while reducing protein catabolism. Serum insulin concentrations were significantly increased by GH but decreased by IGF-I. GH significantly decreased serum total triiodothyronine concentrations and IGF-I significantly decreased serum corticosterone concentrations.
I read that protein is not a problem when injecting hgh, is that true? and what about artificial sugar in protein shakes?
Not sure I understand the question ? may you pls specify ?
is consuming protein shake with artificial sugar and injecting hgh at the same time a problem?
No - when taking exogenous GH consuming high sugar meal will NOT effect GH levels, the GH will work perfectly.
True that raising sharply insulin levels by taking high amount of sugar the endogenous GH secretion will be suppressed
Maybe what he's asking is does a blood sugar spike around the time of the GH injection blunt the metabolic effects of GH - especially as it relates to fat loss? I've often wondered this myself and it's why there are so many conflicting views as to whether GH should be taken in a fasted state. I have tried both and have personally noticed no difference.
I understand now the broader scope of the question.
First - yes if you take high sugar meal it'll raise insulin and blunt some of the fat burning effect, this is a fact, same if you take any serious fat loss drug and take with it high sugar meal.
So the GH itself will carry the same metabolic effect for the long run, GH releases glucose and fatty acids into the circulation, if you spike insulin it'll get back th fatty acids and glucose into fat (and muscle) cells, but it'll not prevent from GH to interact with its receptors and carry his distinct effect.
For my best understanding taking moderate carb meal 1 hour post GH injection will raise IGF1 levels to some extent, but no need to overflaw the body with sugar.
You may take high sugar meal if you're bulking post exercise it'll interact nicely with the GH anabolic effect and help replenish glucagon levels
Good info! tnanks
veriesxIt doesn't cause diabetes. I have never heard of this. It can cause insulin resistance but this is not diabetes...
Insulin resistance directly lead to diabetics

AnonI know this is an old post, but as I have diabetes type 1 I am going to share my toughts as I am convinced about it.
Diabetes is mostly caused (type 2) when your pancreas has to produce huge amounts of insuling to make the cells able to absorb the glucose on your body. So fat people as they eat more and they also have more cells to nourish have high risk for diabetes as their pancreas is not able to produce adquate amounts of insuling.
HGH make your cells harder to absorb sugar especially in the time between 4 and 9 hours after the inkection, this data are ANALYZED BY ME. But I am sure about it as I analyzed very carefully my body.
Actually if you do not eat between 4 and 9 hours after the injection your pacreas will not need to produce more insulin. What I mean is that when I eat sugar between 4 and 9 hours after the injection the amount of insulin I inject is higher. So for the same meal I need to double or even multiply times 3 the amount of insulin I inject. For a person that does not have diabetes this stressed is all bear by its pancreas and such high stress of this organ makes it possible to cause diabetes. I hope you readers know that diabetes means "pancreas not producing insulin"
I actually developed a slight insulin tolerance from using HGH for 2 years at a very low dose of 1-2 iu daily. I have since lowered my dose even further too only 1iu daily but now also take Metformin on a daily basis.
Anonwhat do you mean by insulin tolerance? that you incurred into a slight form of diabetes?
SpyVHere's an study from on Pubmed that partially addresses this: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16263834
Basically, the abstract states that HGH increases glucose production and uptake rates after exercise.
What TMW stated makes sense to me logically, and seems to roughly correlate with part of the abstract in this study. Essentially, the study concludes that HGH increases lipolysis and fatty acid availability at rest and during and after exercise. It would simply seem to me that TMW's advice simply takes advantage of this situation. As far as I know, there is has been no studies on acute or even long term effects of protocol. Interestingly this study was using a dosage protocol of 0.2 U/kg.d, unless I'm mistaken, for myself weighing in at 101kg that'd be around 20IU a day.
GH will effect your blood glucose levels. GH will decrease blood sugar levels. Within 10-40 minutes after inject of GH your blood levels will go down. You want to take in SUGAR/CARBS during this time. The sugar will get into the muscle and not turn into fat. It will work no matter what you eat. No need to fast or anything.
What's your source of this info? It completely contradicts what I've read almost everywhere.

X2?
WithdrawlX2 means "times 2". It means he agrees with or is repeating your comment.
StevebX2
GH is known to promote lipolysis which is the breakdown of lipids and involves hydrolysis of triglycerides into free fatty acids. You must be in a state to use these FFAs (free fatty acids) as they are ready to be used as energy for the bodyIf you are not in a state to use them i.e. not in a fasted state or active through out this time but instead eating carbs which the body will use instead of the FFAs this will cause your blood glucose to remain elevated which can put your body at risk of developing diabetes due to excessive blood glucose.
So simply put...I either need to be fasting when I do it or go running right after. If I can do both, that's the best?
StevebFrom what I've read, you should not consume carbs an hour before or after because your body does not have insulin to deal with them. And in time you could become diabetic. I am not a professional nor do I claim this knowledge from personal experience. Its just what I have read about it many times. You could ask Tread, that guy has taught me a lot. So basically avoid carbs around the time you inject HGH.
StevebThat is why I only plan on injecting in the morning because it will be hard to avoid carbs in the afternoon when people would usually inject the second time.
