We need a 'Protein' Sticky
Its impossible for me to research 'every' thread that has ever been posted on here, I just don't have that amount of time. Someone resurrected a thread the other day and the timing was right for me to catch it.

I was totally in the dark about anabolic and catabolic states
I have been using the optima gold standard immediately after a work out because it is fast acting. I went to a mom and pop health food store and was sold some ronnie coleman pro-antium to take to work with me and just mix in a water bottle. I drank some before bed last night and it gave me acid reflux and I threw up.
I'm thinking about using the fast acting whey after I leave the gym and purchasing a 'casein' which is supposedly slower acting to take to work.
All I've got is bro science and I wish We could get viking or suzy b to write a sticky. All i can do is google and parrot what someone else has wrote and many times that information is not accurate.

sgtstedankoNow, I'm no expert. But, I have read a little bit on it. Imho, I think whey absorbs too fast. Lately, I've been loving the Dymatize elite xt, w/an extra scoop of hydrolized casein, brother. I honestly just skim everything. So if I missed the point, sorry... I'd like to see an all encompassing protein post, as well.
AnonTrust me, If I had what it took to write something worthy of a sticky I would do it. I wish someone very knowledgeable would step forward and write one. I think suzy B would be perfect but from what i understand she is so busy.
I'm a big fan of using Casein pre-bed with some Cottage cheese, fruit. Slow absorption to keep the body going during sleep.
i always use casein before bed. if i use anything else, i wake up 4 hours later STARVING. so much so that i can't go back to sleep until i eat again. for right afer workout, i've tried expensive ass whey and insanely cheap ass whey and never noticed one bit of a difference.

yeah. i only use the casein before bed. i can really tell it takes longer to digest, because like i said, without it i will wake up every time right around 4 hours after i go to bed starving

no i only use whey right after i wake up and right after workout. every other time of the day is food food food

I personally like the elite fusion 7 made by dymatize. It has 7 different proteins that digest at different rates. Like a Sustanon of protein. Also, I read a thread by Viking that you should intake 2 g of protein per lb of body weight.
