*Attempting* to plan first real gain diet

Dirty Bulk: Goals – around 5Kcal/day with 300g protein, 5-600g carbs

Weeks 1-4
Hamburger helper, daily: 6680C, 319g Fat, 471g Carb, 520g P
3lbs 95% ground round – 3674C, 275g F, 348g P
.75lbs hamb helper – 1320C, 6g F, 276g C, 36g P
Gal 1% milk – 1686C, 38g F, 195g C, 136g P

(Ill be sure to add some heart medications, blood thinners, etc with this :-D )

Weeks 5-8
Healthier heavy gain: 6039C, 283g Fat, 627g Carb, 278g P
5 Chix breast – 717C, 14g F, 137g P
3cups brown rice – 649C, 5g F, 135g C, 15g P
5cups wheat pasta – 868C, 4g F, 186g C, 37g P
10oz pesto sauce – 1150C, 105g F, 30g C, 15g P
3 bananas w/Pshakes – 363C, 93g C, 5g P
2cups unsalt cashew – 1573C, 127g F, 90g C, 42g P
2cups yogurt – 299C, 16g F, 23g C, 17g P
1cup granola – 420C, 12g F, 70g C, 10g P
Add Lean Protein

Final four weeks will be determined by cash at hand. Judging by how expensive I think weeks 5-8 will be, it might be a repeat of hamb help.

Thoughts? This is going to be an oh-so-dirty test bulk, so adding some nasty weight isnt an issue. This is my first try actually planning a diet rather than subscribing to the “eat whatever is in sight, and eat lots of it, then go back for more” mentality

Hey mate I honestly don't think that by doing what you call a dirty bulk is the way to go. Think of your car. Put in cheap nasty dirty fuel, then put in some nice clean high octaine fuel and compare the difference. The clean fuel wins every time. You wwont see a racing car using crappy fuel from a dodgey service station would you? I honestly think that by doing a so called dirty bulk will hamper your results. By eating what you have outlined will place un-necessary stress on your body that you just don't need. We are in the bussiness of getting big yeah? Well you can be big and fat or big and ripped. I sure know what I would like, but everyone wants different things. RightO if you eat good clean Protien, carbs and the right fats you will grow better and faster than on a dirty bulk. The reason is your body will be workig more efficiently at digesting the foods and getting them where they are needed. If you introduce alot of saturated fats it slows this down and you can start to miss the window of oportunity for maximum uptake of nutrients to begin the recovery process. Just remeber you can't flex fat.

Yeah more like that. But I would also probably recoment less food all round mate. Depending on your size mate the main thing to do is eat say 40g of protien from animal flesh every 2 hours and around 20-30g carbs from Brown rice or sweet potatoe. Now the next thing is your greens mate load up on that stuff mate. Eating like this will provide you with all the required nutrients for repair and growth as well as keeping your metabolic rate up as well. It,s not about eating till you are full. You eat till you aren't hungry any more mate. If you eat say 60g of protien at each sitting chances are about half of that will become waste and wont be able to be utilised mate. So you are basicaly crapping money or throwing it away.

Thanks for the pointers, final shopping trip in a few hours to fill the spare bit of fridge space. Ill try leaner cals and see where it puts me. I am a bit bigger than most though, 6'4" and spend my spare time in burning buildings so im guessing my maintainance needs are higher than most.

Yeah I totally understand your occupation. I do the same thing mate in Aust. Not your height though but the same guidelines still really apply. Grab that branch, water on and put the wet stuff on the hot stuff bro
