Push ups on off days ?

Im sorry for this, if it seems like a dumb question.
I was wondering if on off days between chest and arm work outs, if it would be ok to do a few sets of pushups.
Is that a bad idea ? Does an off day for a muscle group have to be entirely off ?

I do 2 sets of 25 every morining and 2 sets of 25 every night. Its just what my dad made me do since I was 8 and it stuck with me so I still do it. Dont really know how it affects my recovery.
A few push up on off days could help through active recovery
AnonWhat are you trying to accomplish by doing so...if its going to be a serious push up routine aka p90x stylr i would say no, otherwise if you just wanna bang out 2 sets of 30, you should be ok
AnonNo just a few sets was all I was thinking. I had kind of thought it just might make my exercise pattern more rounded. I hate to sound vain ,but sometimes I like to get a little pump going for various superficial reasons, and when I havent been able to grab some weights quick, Ive just done a quick 50 pushups.
