Putting your body in ketosis is great and you will shed pounds quick, but it is a state that your body can go into catobolism.you will be weaker and more tired, and look "flat".Your carbs have to be as low as 40g(fiber) a day to put yourself in this state.the downfall is your metabolism will drop also and your body will hoard the fat longeand you have the potential of breaking muscle tissue down.their is no calories in your body so your body doenst need to break anything down so it slows down,i would not
stay in this state for more than 3 days....thus the key is to "trick" your body....drop your carbs down to around 40 and do lots of cario.put yourself in ketosis or close to it,if you cannot tell your in this state then go to the local pharmacy and get test strips.after day 3 "this is the fun part" take a day off of cardio and training and "load up" on carbs every two hours get in as many nutritional carbs as you can get in,what this does is tricks your body, will your metabolism is low the carbs and calories are jacked way up and your body responds with raising your temperature and metabolism, your muscle get filled with glycogen and your skin will get stretched out again and youll look and feel great, youll actually feel your heartrate go up at night and feel warmer after your load day with your metabolism up you slam your carbs down again,so when your calories are down your metabolism is up from loading and youll burn more fat more efficently and could also gain muscle in the mean time not loose muscle.you will lose 5 lbs in ketosis a week and then go up 3 lbs carbed up witch in total you will lose 2lbs a week, this diet i did for 3 years during my competitions and place in the top three each year and got shredded, you are the same size as me and i think it would work great for you....this diet technique is from the book called "sliced" a women named Negrita Jayde and it was a life saver

yes thats exactly right...but i wouldnt go 4 days keto,3 max, trust me when you hit day three of just eating protien and low fat with just some veggies your body is going to be screaming for carbs.also after a while youll get the hang of it and you can adjust as you go just keep a eye out on your body and listen too, trick it and change it up,the human body is very smart and will adapt to anything your doing to it,has defense mechanisms.youll love doing this and carb loading will help you stay on the diet longer, were as no carbs any longer than 3 days you and alot of others will not or cannot stay on it they give up and cheat at the wrong time.the first day on your keto day threwout the diet you will look, feel and be at your peek strengh, carbs take a good 24 hours to really kick into glycogen, you will look tighter and be more vascular by doing this, bodybuilders do this down to a science and do it right up to the last week before a show because they can control how youll look down to the hour, were you need it most, drink plenty of water too!!!i did this a was shredded,i had veins showing on my lower abs!!all from food naturaly, doing this diet, you dont need a magic pill or shot to lose weight its hard work, and perserverance,dedication...after about 3 months you can get ripped, you will adjust your diet to more carbs and calories later and still hold a 6%bodyfat all year if you want,4-5% is just to unhealthy for a long period of time....hope this helps bro...lets do this!!!!!!

that is what i meant by just starting the diet getting your feet wet the change accordigly. plan it in a manner around your schedule and how your body reacts.i would keep the carb day on the weekend because it is easier to eat, sometimes you need another half day or full second to load, youll no you went to far if you get a watery puffy look on your body or face in the morning.you g2g if your muscles feel full and
you can get a good pump in the gym and not look bloated.youll no when your depleted enough when your flat looking and cant really get a pump very well.aas gives you a edge though i did this for three years naturaly, thats all i had to rely on was food and
timing,it was very tough.but i would plan where your toughest workout is the day after your carb day....oh again watch yourself closely if your not loosing enough wieght up your cardio first,if that doenst work then drop more carbs or calories,if your loosing weight to fast add a carb day.if that doesnt work drop the cardio a little.

You need more cardio. That's it. Do it after workout for 30-40 minutes.
Not possible? Then do it in the morning on empty stomach.
Try HIT.
It will take some time until your metabolism will work faster. Be patient. But DO IT.

Ya know, I always recommend that RIGHT after waking, and especially when cutting..that the person should sip on some BCAA's and glutamine to cease any extended nightime catabolism...so he could try that while cooking breakfast. Sometimes I recommend a morning WPI shake, but I do that more when I am building mass.

Thoughts on this:
-Meal 1 is only about 25-28g protein. Could add a few more eggs and egg whites...maybe 4 whole eggs and 3 egg whites?...making it more like 39g protein?

-Did you ever think of throwing maybe 10g of casein into your whey(meals 2 and 4) instead of all whey? Some people seem to think that ANY slow-digesting protein isn't good for cutting, but I don't know where they got that idea...as it prevents catabolism because it slowly releases aminos into your system instead of flooding it like whey does. Just a thought...and it will help you 'stay full' or 'think' your not hungry, lol.

-I also think there's too much of a reliance on whey shakes...if you have the funds available, throw in some whitefish(cod) and broccoli(or spinach) with a scoop of almond butter for some of those meals. Cod is an excellent source of protein for it's serving size. The broccoli is full of calcium(very highly bioavailable source!) and other vites/minerals/antioxidants, and contains more anitoxidants than spinach, BUT spinach is very alkaline by nature and especially when running a cutting diet, your body is slipping into more of an imbalance with more acidic food choices. It's full of antioxidants and high in vitamin K, A, manganese, folate, iron and vitamin C. If your cutting, spinach is great for weight management because it contains a lot of nutrients, and is very low in calories.

-Depending on when you eat meals 5 and 6, you could switch them and eat the salmon/red meat a few hours before bed...with the salad and good fats of course. All those good fats are excellent later in the day, good call!! And then right before hitting the sack, slam a 40g casein shake before brushing the chops...go to bed, sleep, wake-up and do it all over AGAIN!!!

Overall though, cdaddy...it's good and I am not trying to tear ya a new one, if it works for ya, then it works...I just like food sources of protein better than whey, but that's my opinion...and that's that!!

thanks for the adjustment cdaddy, i'm at 180 pounds as well and at 10.9% BF my abs are still not showing. time to cut!

If you really cannot handle it, after the first 5 days you can alternate days where you add high fiber carbs to the meals.. this means cruciferous veges, salads, greens, nuts ..you will still be able to stay in ketosis and be less crabby.. One of the reasons why people talk about how "bad" it is to be in ketosis is because they are used to eating so much crap the body really needs to dotox before you run a diet like this.

DBG's picture

WOW..shit!! Couldn't have said it any better...anyone needs to know, GRRRL knows her diet shit. That's exactly the issue and the solution...let's get ya some more points again!! +1

Drop your carbs to 50 grams pr day and eat them in the morning. Looks like your protein is way low too. If you are drinking a protein drink make sure it has 0 carbs. Things to avoid if possible are all fake sugars, caffeine, and anything carbonated. Try adding 3 meals to your diet. When you wake up do cardio in short burst before breakfast.
