I agree with some of this. Essentially, my favorite part of it all is that no one seems to give a shit anymore. plus, the more pro-athlete's caught using steroids, the less i have to justify my habits to gf/friends.

that being said, my opinion has not changed. if you are using PED's that are illegal in your respective sport. you are cheating. not to discredit talent, but users clearly have an advantage over non-users

Heres a mad comment lol just go with it-i think people should sign a online legalize steroids form sign it and ryt 1 good benifit it gives you and a few paragraphs about the good it could do for people if science and studys where done and money was put into them to get researched if by some chance it was legalized then you would fill in a form that says what you would like researched and blah blah blah i know my taxes would be better put to use there then some dirty fuckin mp ripping prick using them for a extra house and a merc and even having the cheek to put down a pack of crisps and a 5 grand fridge dwn to toilet roles and posh fuckin dinners and nyts at the ritz anyways lol if the germans can create test in a lab back then think of what we could do these days with good funding.i read about a guy who was trying to turn off the muscle grouth enzym or something along them lines in cows or bulls and he claims it would allow your muscles to just keep growing and then when you are massive switch it bk on again some crazy shit lol

I saw a program a while back with professional musicians who played in an orchestra and they all freely admitted to buying beta blockers to improve their playing and reduce nerves during live performances. They almost all admitted that there was no medical need for them to take them.

There was some scandal with pro snooker players taking beta blockers for non medical reasons for the same 'performance enhancing' abilities.

Asthma medications and coffee are banned in some sports in the UK, I think that it's all a bit over policed and inconsistent.

With or without AAS in certain sports participants are risking their health and lives for the enjoyment of others and if they wish to take something that can reduce those risks or improve their performance I believe they have the right to do so.

People will always try and find a way round rules and regs anyway so make it a free for all and have done with it.

Bro I think everybody is on some kind of PED. Every man in America has or will take Viagara or Cialis at one point in their life. Women are on hormones after hysterectomys, shit for that matter anyone on Blood pressure Meds are on PEDs. Especially when I see some fatass at work who talks about their BP meds I want to say "Go for a damn Walk you fat fuck!" Instead of working hard they want to take a pill. Some folks are genetically predisposed to Hi BP so I understand that. But my point is almost everyone we know is on some form of PEDs.

Haha yea thats an awesome anology

So if I win the Olympia this year, and I use steroids, I'm cheating?
If you think that any less than 90% of NFL linemen use steroids, you're living in another dimension. Use of steroids can never be cheating when nearly everyone in pro sports uses them.......the ones who get caught are the stupid ones.
How can Bonds or McGwire be cheats when they got their HR's from pitchers (like Clemmons) who used steroids as well?
If I don't want to use N.O. Xplode due to the liver damage it causes, how can I say you cheated when you beat me after drinking a gallon of that shit and had the reaction-time of a frightened cobra on amphetamines?
If someone has a problem with using steroids, then they shouldn't be in pro sports----and we all know that statement is no more applicable than within the sport of bodybuilding, where the athletes have their gear shipments unloaded with a forklift. And it's funny, but I never hear the media or public complain that the current Mr. Olympia is on steroids, yet we conduct witch hunts to go after a guy who rides a bicycle and may have had a little extra oxygen in his blood.
If you can't keep steroids out of sports, then steroids were meant to be in sports.

i hear you brother. there are strong arguments for both sides. i cant make a sweeping generalization of all sports/athletes. i hadn't even considered pro BB.

im a firm believer that if you take 2 equally talented athletes, of similar genetics, equally trained/dieted, and put one on ped's and leave the other natural. the one juicing will clearly have an edge. i love mcguire and bonds haha 2 of my favorite all time im sure you would agree w that.the rules need changing. itll never be resolved

I absolutely agree. And I understand that with steroids being so prevalent in sports, athletes are forced to use them if they wish to compete. So it really comes down to a decision...."Do I want to play professional sports, and if so, am I willing to take steroids like all the others"?
When grown men are paid MILLIONS of dollars to put a ball through a hoop or in an end zone, then they better put on one hell of a show. The only way that's possible is with steroids. Remember how fun it was watching the Bash Brothers hitting one out of the park almost every single game?

j0n's picture

Couldn't have said it better. The bash brothers made EVERY single at bat exciting. Then I felt the same way when Barry used to step to the plate. the point about mcguire/sosa hitting home runs off clemens/pettite (among other "using" pitches) its a something i hadn't considered. i think the anti-ped's folks are slowing losing touch with their argument for reasons like this...

because the rules are impossible to enforce (because using ped's is just human nature) the rules need to change. i feel like the vocal majority of anti-ped's in sports supporters are grandstanding for moral high-ground...more than knowing anything about what they are arguing for/against.

100% agreed.
