About eating before workout

ad

Quick question. I work out at 5am so i dont eat until after the workout. Is that going to effect weight gains or how hard you can push it in the gym? I take protien and eat right afterwards. Just been in the back of my mind for awhile.

If it's time constriction that is your problem grab a 50g protien with some waxy maze and maybe a banana and consume it on your drive to the gym..
nutrition is imperative pre&post workout.

When I am too busy I just take some food with me in car. At least I take some Aminos.

IMO results will be hard to come by if u don't eat before u lift bro, cook some red potatoes ahead of time (they pack a lot of carbs in a little potatoe and r easy to eat), then u can carry one around the house and eat it as u get ready, stuff your face with as 3 or 4 while u drive to the gym and slam a whey shake right before u lift. Your will feel alot better and have what u need to make it through your workout.

I can't lift worth a damn on a empty stomach, I stuff my face with carbs/calories/protein the most before a heavy workout and take a shake after then a good meal a lil later when I have more room.. then coast on regular food the rest of the day til i pass out and rebuild.. If anything make a protein smoothie before you work out.. Does wonders!

I used to do the same brother, what I did is I set my alarm for 4:00, get up, drink a protein/carbs shake, then go back to bed and wake up an hour later. As for your interrogation concerning how hard you can push at the gym, an empty stomach will DEFINETELY keep you from pushing it to the max, as for weight gains, it for sure won't help you not to eat before, but what's most important here is the meal you have immidiately after your work out. Also, if you aren't looking to cut, I suggest you take a gatorade during your work-out, specially in early morning ... hope this helps!

Gatorade... i'll have to try that one out. Def feel weaker in the morning work-outs. but i thought it might just be because it was so early and i havent woke up yet. ill have to try taking a shake or something first.

Its deffinetly where your body is depleted of glycogen. I heard Jay Cutler say that when he trains legs he like to get 5 meals down first. The more carbs you eat the more energy and better you will feel in the gym.

simple carbs so the the body absorbs it quick and uses it as fuel

2nd that, I would have said the exact same thing and have done it in the past
