My Very Positive First AAS Cycle At Age 45 (Long)

ad

If this helps anybody out there who is considering AAS for the first time, then great. If not, simply hit the back arrow button on your browser and ignore it.

I just completed my first cycle. Here are my thoughts after the fact:

Goals: This is an important part of deciding if/what you want to pursue/accomplish with AAS IMO because one size does not fit all. Some on here want to look like a truck, BUT that was not my goal. I have always had a taller/leaner physique, and I wanted to maintain that. I want to look like an athlete with noticeable muscularity, and not a hulk.

Also, at age 45, I have no desire to do endless cycles of AAS. I am on test replacement therapy (“TRT”) and not afraid to take some juice going into the future, but I do not care to continue with cycling to gain as much mass as possible. Luckily, after this one cycle, I am only around 6-10 pounds of lean muscle mass away (and losing around 4-6 pounds of fat) from being right where I want to be. With some more hard work, I might be able to get there naturally.

Results: I started at 6-0, 173 pounds and around 15% body fat percentage (“BFP”) (which puts me right in the lean category for my age).

I finished at 194 pounds (that is a 12% weight gain) and around 15% body fat. I probably will do another cycle, because I ultimately would like to get to 200 pounds while maintaining my BFP at 15% or reducing it to around 12%. Some might scoff at the BFP, but again, age is an important part of it because you carry more internal fat as you age. I still have decent definition in my abs and wouldn’t want to go below 12% because I want to look good, but not totally abnormal, for somebody my age. I do not care to look like some freak on the cover of a magazine. Again, personal goals are key.

I have gained at least a full shirt size with the most noticeable gains being in my legs, ass, shoulders and upper back. More definition, but not as much mass gain, in my chest and lats, too. I now have a hard time finding jeans to fit around my thighs. Yet, when I look in the mirror I cannot see dramatic results even though my measurements tell me otherwise. The wife has noticed a huge difference too. It is funny how we get a self-image and have a hard time seeing anything different.

I also had significant gains in strength. I didn’t do any one-set maxes, but workout amounts for Leg Press went up around 40% and Bench Press around 33%.

How I Got There: I worked out religiously throughout the entire cycle and used the following AAS. I also ate a high protein, moderate carb and fat diet with the focus on eating real food and not just protein shakes (I averaged around one shake per day, though, just to get the protein I needed).

Before I post my cycle below, I don’t need any lectures. What is done is done. I have an engineering degree as well as another advanced degree. I am more than capable of researching information and making my own decisions:

Weeks 1-4: DBol @ 40 mg per day (I got half my weight gains in this 4 week period with little in the way of water-this stuff works wonders for me).

Weeks 1-5 Anavar @ 50 mg per day (really helped with subcutaneous BF and brought my abs out)

Weeks 1-10: Test Cyp @ 500 mg per week.

Weeks 1-10: Deca @ 350 mg per week.

Here is where the lecturers will really have to restrain themselves. I wanted to end the cycle by polishing my gains for the lean look I wanted:

Weeks 11-16: Test Prop, Tren Ace and Mast Prop blend at 100 mg every other day (350 mg per week).

Weeks 11-16: Test C @ 100 mg per week.

Ancillaries: I had all of the necessary compounds on hand BEFORE I started the cycle. Very important advice that I read everywhere I looked. Do not ignore it. But…

I read somewhere that you should not start with an anti-estrogen compound and instead wait to see how your body reacts. Very bad advice in my opinion. I recommend starting anastrozole (SP?) or other SERM at the beginning. Not doing so caused my ankles to swell up like balloons and then the resulting paranoia about gyno, etc. Don’t even fool with it. Start your anti-estrogen compounds from the start.

Same with Caber if you are taking a 19-nor like Deca or Tren. There is plenty of good advice about dosage, etc. on here and other sites. Find what you think is reasonable and start it at the beginning. That will keep you from squeezing your nipples every five minutes worrying about gyno and your ankles from looking like blimps like mine did.

PCT: I am on TRT, so this wouldn’t appear to apply as much to me according to a lot of what I read. However, I am still doing it. My thought is that my body is still facing a reduction in test and anything I can do to help it recover its test producing capabilities is good. So, I am doing Rohms PCT pills for three weeks (2 per day for weeks 1 and 2, and 1 per day for the last week). I just started this and will update this thread if I see any huge losses over the next few months.

Tren: I had minimal sides from the tren but was on Caber EOD from the beginning until one week after I completed it. I have a very even temperament, but I have to admit that the tren upset the applecart a bit. My wife and I fought more over the last 3 weeks I was on it than the rest of our 8-year marriage combined. She didn’t know I was on juice, but I did. And there is no doubt in my mind that tren tweaked my emotions to some degree. I just didn’t have any patience. Just something for others to keep in mind.

Oh, and the cough. I had a bout after one injection. I have read that you will know it when you get it. Absolutely correct. I aspirated on the injection, drew air, pushed in the plunger just like always, and then got lightheaded and proceeded to bark like a seal for a few minutes. Then it went away. But, the coughing is very intense for a few minutes.

Deca and Tren Dick: I had no problems with erections or drive. In fact, I wore the wife out during the cycle. I did find it harder to reach orgasm, and getting two nuts in one night was nearly impossible (even with the Caber).

Conclusion: Let me know if you have any questions and I will try to answer them. Again, this was a very positive experience for me and I am glad I did it. Just do your research and know what you are getting into before you take the leap. With the internet at our fingertips, there is no excuse for the bozos who start a cycle without ALL of the proper compounds on hand.

Congrats on running and getting what "you" wanted from your cycle, proving homework has been done correctly and cycle run properly from start to finish! i wouldnt expect anything different from a person at your age who clearly shows intelligence and a good understanding of what you where about to undertake, glad you got the exact results you where looking for and proves aas when used correctly will give desired results to each individual.

I guess it would have been helpful to point out that I was on test cyp for a few months on TRT before I launched into the cycle.

I also did not come out of the gate with tren. I added it after 10 weeks. I had also researched the hell out of it. What I found is that it is not some mystical compound that many make it out to be. I also took tren ace so I could stop it fairly quickly if I had an adverse reaction.

The only compound I didn't really care for was deca. It seemed to cause a lot of water retention in my body. But, everybody is different, and it could lead to great gains for others.

In any event, I had my diet and training established before I started, and I got to where I wanted to be after one cycle. Not many people on here, including the self appointed "pros," can say that. I am happy with the results.

I will leave it to these "pros" like jpal, who probably failed high school chemistry and biology, to spew their pearls of wisdom to the masses. AAS involves your body and absolutely should be researched and respected before anybody starts a cycle. However, it is not rocket science or some holy grail of knowledge. It involves personal decisions. Some people are confident with researching and making their own decisions. That is me. Others are not and need for you to lead them by the hand.

In closing, my biggest complaint about sites like this is the level of arrogance that many respond with. My favorite responses are when new users ask for help. It is almost like these meatheads have canned responses:

"You are too young for AAS."
"You are not ready for AAS."
"You should be able to do better through better diet and training."
"You are stupid."

Yet, they are already using themselves. What makes them so special that they can use but others can't. It is ridiculously hypocritical.

They also act like they hold some Ph.D. of knowledge that is unattainable by others. Yet, they are faceless people who very well may be real idiots in real life. Many are not, and sites like this gave me good information and the ability to do this with some degree of confidence. But, what you read must be filtered because you know nothing about the person who is posting.
