Shoulder impingement

ad

I got the results of my MRI back. The Doc says I dont have a rotator cuff tear but I do have tendonitis aka shoulder impengement. Ive tried nursing it back to health for about 2 years now. He says it isnt going to get better and wants to to a saubacromial decompression, basiclly go in and shave down the bone causing the impingement and clean everything out. Anyone have any experience with this, if so what was the recovery time. would AAS speed up the recovery?

I got diagnosed with exactly the same thing from my MRI and was meant to have the same procedure. The doctor did the surgery and found once in there found that I actually did have a tear (didn't show up on the MRI). Anyway he repaired the tear along with the bone shaving and needless to say I was in a sling for 6 weeks and couldn't really do any lifting for around 6 months. 2.5 years down the track although pain free the shoulder is not and will nevere the same.....somehing to think about as MRI's are not always 100% accurate. Sorry to scare you but this was my experience

Go to a sports physio, get him to work on your scapula tracking/upper back posture and rotator cuffs

Bro if I was you I would jump on it. I got the same problem I'm pretty sure, same noise but my pain has gotten better by doing warm up exercises for my shoulder before heavy benching. I just wish I had insurance. Stock pile the gear til you get rehabbed then grow my friend.

Had exact procedure 4 years ago arthroscopically for same reason. My shoulder sounded like rice krispies when i rotated and i couldnt even do yardwork without having a dead arm for 3 days. After procedure no friction in joint, pain free, and strength normal. Took like 3 months to rehab if I remember correcty. This will not get better by itself bro. Glad I went through it. Doc explained they use to do it as an open procedure and had to cut through muscle and it was a long recovery. Not anymore though.

I had the surgery done back in the early 90's and it took about 6-7 months to heal. The doc said he had to cut through a lot of muscle so the recovery would take a little longer. I never got my full range of motion back and still have some pain every now and then and numbness in my fingers if I drive for long periods of time or I sleep on it wrong. But the surgery was well worth it imo. I would think that aas would work to help repair the muscle. I'm sure they have changed the way they do the procedure over the years and recovery time is probably shorter also

Was yours preformed openly or athroscopically? He's really selling it as not a big deal and has put me at 4 month until I can lift heavy again.

Have you received any ultrasound or low level laser therapy? It might be wise to try these options before jumping under the knife.
