Chimp strength and other primates
so I see treads silver-back Gorilla avatar...
This makes me think about planet of the apes. Yeah they have a new movie in the series coming out on Video/DVD today? yesterday? All those big apes...got me thinking. I love a good movie. I like Charlton Heston... I have popcorn... its a date w/ myself!
so I go and dag out a movie from my collection and watch it. I have the house to myself this weekend.
So then my mind is wandering?? or wondering ??
So how the hell are they 3-4x stronger than us homo sapiens ( no homo ) when muscle size is not 3x as large ? How can they jump so much further? They have limited use of legs but I bet they have legs that are a lot stronger too.
I have heard a chimps strength is crazy and Chimps are smaller than us.
Should we eat more bananas? should we lay around more ?
Maybe you can answer this question ??

tread-mOUR Muscle strength per square inch of muscle is greater due to the use of these muscles as intended over years. Humans were once similar in that muscles were stronger due to use. Use it or lose it theory or fact as it really were. Plus I ate some of Chuck Norris' beard clippings once.
Beard clippings
I wonder if I could get some Chuck Jedi mojo by shaking his hand by chuckmosis??
I looked this up, for those of you that are interested...
I checked 3-4 places... seems the hypothesis is we have more fine motor skills, we homo sapiens ( no homo ) can perform more delicate tasks. Chimps have much less gray matter in their spinal cords than humans, less motor neurons, less control but more strength.
I also read that their muscle structure is different. One article said the chimp can recruit more muscle to fire than we can.
The downside is I see no way to apply these principles to the gym?
AnonKMC is on the right track, it has to do with their tendons and ligaments. We dont swing from trees all day, so we dont develop the way needed to have the strength they do. Just as an ant is able to lift 20x it's own body weight... Imagine if you could lift 1000lbs... With your jaws.
"Imagine if you could lift 1000lbs... With your jaws."
Nope, but I know a couple of girls that can suck start a Ford diesel........
JtizzleWait , you can't lift 1000lbs with your jaws , I know a few girls that prob could :)? jk good answer Serpent
I once heard the answer to this,.................had something to do with the number ligament and tendon or the way they were attached.
i vote muscle cell density and cell wall strength
Jtizzleok u win , ur smarter than me but I try and overcompensate with humor...
JtizzleI would say it's something to do with the ratio of slow twitch to fast twitch muscle fibers maybe? That or the bananas.. or the feces throwing.. lol
My money is on all that feces throwing.
Jtizzletwo chimps one cup
Eric090585i'd watch that shit
