Left pec problem
ad
So i have this problem. This problem effects my benchpress i believe. For whatever reason i dont have the mind to muscle connection in my left pec! When i flex my chest i can squeeze my right peck much harder than my left pec. It gets alot harder when flexed too. I'm also a lot weaker in my left peck. It always fails first. And when i go heavy on barbell bench i feel it bigtime. Today i tried something different. I did iso hammer stregth bench presses one arm at a time and really notcied that this a a huge problem that i need to fix. Dont know if its something in my shoulders(front delts) or what. Wtf guys? Ever heard of this problem? What can i do?

May want to see a chiropractor as well and get adjusted, just to be sure you aren't pinching a nerve. That can cause big-time strength loss.
Hey mate as the guy's below have said. Stick to the DB presses. Also how long have you been training for. If it's not that long and you are right hand dominant (right handed) it is to be expected that the left will be a bit behind. The best way to overcome this is exactly what you are doing. Getting to the gym and training using DB's. It will evenyually even it's self out. Good luck with it.
BostonThankyou all. I'll stick with dumbells for 2 or 3 weeks then hit the barball for one week then hop back on the dumbells.
AnonI hate to piggy back but I am in Full agreement on bells. You got three for 3 on bells you are G2G.
AnonSwith do dumbells like ravishin suggested and if you left side is weaker squeeze one extra rep on every set until both sides are the same. If you are not strong enough to do an extra rep on that side, do one less rep on the good side. It is important to have an extra rep on the weak side thats the only way to catch up. Exect it to take months
BostonBut i cant squeeze it. Thats the problem. I cant control my left peck.
Your saying it's in some way neurological? I would personally hazard a guess its just overly pushing with dominate side exacerbated by an incorrect training style. If you do a Youtube search you'll find a few NFL vids with payers incline pressing alternately. As suggested above maybe thats a style to follow to even things up a bit.
You could use just dumbbells (or similar) working at the pace (and mind to muscle link) of the weakest side. Over time they should get back in balance. Don't think there's going to be a quick fix for this.
