Motor Neurone Disease and AAS/HGH treatments
My frien has Motor Neurone Disease and has asked his Doctor about trying AAS for help with slowing muscle wasting. They where uninterested in helping him.
We've read some studies that indicate Oxandrolone (Anavar) has helped to slow it down slightly.
Deca has also been used in Aids as far as my memory serves me.
Obviously the outlook is poor and the outcome inevitable but he wants to try anything.
I've suggested Deca with Test and Anavar.
I think 200mg of Deca EW and 300-400mg Test EW with 30mg Anavar ED would be a good starting point.
He's also having trouble sleeping and I personally think HGH may help here and also complement the other things quite well. I've seen research that shows it's it's ineffective in slowing MND but may help to combat symptoms.
We're in the UK so luckily he can get Riluzole on prescription for free, however this was making him feel weaker and sicker so he gave up on it.
I've seen info on antioxidants being beneficial.
Please if anyone has any suggestions or knowledge on MND could you post up here or PM me.
Many thanks for looking :-)

i found this on wasting related to HIV. i know i have read before that HGH is good to use against wasting. hope it helps. sorry about your friend. i am sure there is lots more on the subject i just pulled something quick.
In HIV disease, human growth hormone is best known as a treatment for HIV-related wasting, although it is not an approved treatment for this condition in Europe. High doses of human growth hormone have been found to increase weight and lean body mass in people with AIDS wasting (Moyle; Schmitt-Rau; Schambelan; Paton). An increase in lean body mass is thought to be important in HIV disease because the loss of lean body mass is the form of wasting most closely related to an increased risk of death. For more information see A to Z of illnesses: Wasting syndrome.
In August 1996 human growth hormone was granted accelerated approval in the USA for the treatment of AIDS wasting. Studies of up to 12 weeks in duration have found that the drug may stabilize weight or reverse weight loss in people with HIV, although no improvements in survival were seen. The long-term safety and tolerability of human growth hormone are unknown.
In the European Union human growth hormone has been granted Orphan Drug status for the treatment of AIDS wasting, which means that Serono will have exclusive rights to market the product for this purpose in Europe, even though other companies also have their own versions of human growth hormone. The measure is designed to encourage companies to develop drugs in areas where the number of patients likely to benefit is very low.
Two large, randomized trials presented at the 2002 International AIDS Conference in Barcelona confirmed that human growth hormone can reduce abdominal fat and increase muscle in people taking anti-HIV therapies, confirming previous reports (Kotler; Moyle). Reductions in ‘buffalo hump’ and breast size have also been reported, although breast development in men has been noted as a side-effect of rHGH. However, improvements may reverse on stopping rHGH and may be more likely among individuals with mild body fat abnormalities.
The benefits of rHGH seem to be limited to boosting muscles and decreasing fat accumulation. It has no effect on fat loss in the face and limbs, and does not impact on ‘thinning’ bones.
Anonproblem here is Joe that the wasting in ALS is a direct result of the neuronal degradation specifically to those that control movement and because of that the muscles waste. So it doesn't make sense to try to stop muscle wasting on the back end. What needs to happen is regeneration of the nervous system and there isn't anything in the literature that indicates that aas or hgh has that effect. I hate to rain on the parade here.
i hear ya. sucks. i dont know anything about that type of issue i just knew i had read about Gh being used for wasting in general due to HIV so wanted to see if it would help or give a head start to other research. sorry
Anonhere is something I dug up from pub med. It will explain most of the disease... so sorry to hear that your friend has ALS.. again, I would say that anavar would be the most appropriate form of aas to use, however, given the muscle wasting is a result of the nerve damage it is difficult to say whether or not the aas will be effective. the muscles waste due to the inability to utilize them as the nerves that control the muscles are not functioning properly.

I would imagine the HGH would help out but I'm no doctor and I don't know doctors on here.. Seems more like a steroid cycle than medication to help him out. I saw anavar for one Idk about deca. Look if he just HAS to do this. Tell the doctors what your doing and have them watch him. If it starts to back fire that's the fastest and safest way to find out.
AnonI know absolutely nothing about the disease but I can tell you that Anavar is used regularly to stop wasting disease in AIDS patients. I have not read or seen anything that indicates the use of Test or Decca. As far as HGH, it takes many months for the benefits to begin to show themselves. Most anecdotal information states not to look for any improvements for at least a year. I will look for more info on MND.
