I work 12 hour days so for me I hit cardio first thing in the morning (5:00AM) then hit the gym at 7:30PM. This time is great because the gym is not busy.

When you wake up on a empty stomach. Increase fat burning all day and when you get off work you do-not have to worry about going to the gym.

when the gym is empty and you can get on the equipment you need without waiting is the best time.Or the guys that you see never training legs avoid them.

I believe its better to train after you have had a few meals because your glycogen stores are up and ready to burn, straight after training u wanna hit some simple carbs with your protein because you will have burnt up your glycogen stores and need replacing also these simple carbs may cause an insulin spike and therfore transporting much needed protein into those pumped muscles. Also I think for burning fat its better to do cardio in the a.m on a empty stomach or directly after a heavy weight sesh(because you have burnt up stored energy, glycogen) and this will take the fat from your stores on your body. I train in the afternoon as i want my body to be primed as much as possible before subjecting it to heavy weight training. Im keen to learn so please anyone correct me if im wrong.

I have always been told cortisol levels are highest early morning. Not sure if I believe that. I always train early, 5 am. I still notice gains when Im not on a cycle training that early. I feel I train my hardest mid-day, after having a chance to load on calories, water and other nutrients. I think people get to caught up in BS theorys and stress over it and wonder if there doing the right thing. Some times you just have to forget all those BS theorys and train the way YOU want to train.

i'm an early a.m. guy. get it out of the way, great way to start the day, and no matter what happens in the course of the day I already took care of the workout...

My thoughts exactly. Not much can come up or get in the way for me at 4:30am . The negative is a lack of eye candy. But not really there for that anyhow(of course I am conflicted on this issue). I put on the ipod and do work. Out by 6 then home to get the little ones off to school and my ass to work. Plus I feel mentally superior to the lazy asses around me trying to wake up with monsters, red bulls and 5day. Whats even funnier is they wonder why they are all tired with there sugar crash. Anyhow done with that rant...Morning it is for me...Makes me smile all day.. The downside is I can barley make it to 8pm. My wife and kids give me a hard time..lol
