Semaglutide questions
So I am 45 now and eat fairly decent but plagued by having my share of chubby genetics and not having the height to pull it off lol, usually stay around 225 and 5'9". Anyway couple of months back I decided to try a run of generic semaglutide from a supplier on here which I don't want to name at this time, ordered 3 vials and reconstituted the first and was amazed by how well it worked without many sides, then I did the 2nd vial. This is where my problem started the first injection didn't seem like it absorbed well but felt better as the week went on so I proceeded with number 2 and it was obvious that something was different with this vial and an abscess started to grow more and more and was warm to the touch so I started with my antibiotics hoping to at least not let it get too infected. Stayed about the same for maybe a week when I finally decided just to drain it myself before going to an actual clinic, that was about 4 days ago now and felt 100% better instantly, swelling and temperature are gone, now there is just a mass of hard tissue but seems that my body is doing a good job of dissolving it so far at least. So I have a couple of concerns before I decide if I want to make another run with this, obviously a different supplier just to be safe. I am pretty confident in my technique and cleanliness and don't think the supplier is dirty,so I am wondering if it's possible my immune system started to reject this and kind of sealed it up instead of absorbing if that makes sense or maybe too many pins in the same general area triggered the reaction? Or just dirty gear is most likely? Any advice or personal experiences are appreciated.

Hey man, sorry to hear about your experience with the semaglutide. Abscesses are always frustrating and can be a sign of a few different things. It’s possible that you hit a bad spot with too many injections in the same area, which can cause irritation or tissue trauma, leading to an abscess. Even if the gear was clean, repeatedly pinning the same area can cause localized inflammation and immune responses.
However, there's also a chance the vial was contaminated. It’s hard to say for sure without having it tested, but sterile technique is key. Even the smallest lapse in hygiene can lead to issues like this, especially with reconstituted peptides. I’d recommend rotating injection sites more frequently to give your tissue a break, and maybe switch up the supplier to see if it makes a difference.
Good on you for starting antibiotics and draining it. If the hard mass doesn’t go away, definitely keep an eye on it or check in with a doc to make sure it doesn’t turn into anything worse. As for another run, I’d be cautious and maybe give your body some time to heal fully before jumping back in. Stay safe!
