+ 3 I'm 44 and I want some advice and guidance on a beginner cycle
ad
Hi everyone. My title pretty much says it all.
I exercise on average 4 days a week I follow strictly a bodyweight type of rutien. (Frank Madrono, or All kavadlo) lots of pull up dips squats lunges. I've raced motocross and enduro on and off for the past 30 years. If your in your fourtys you can probably guess where I'm leading. I weigh 210 am 6 feet tall not sure of my fat% but I'm sure its higher than I want it to be. I eat a good diet. My goal is to increase my lean muscle mass reduce my fat percentage and continue training for motocross and enduro. Any suggestion on what type of cycle will help will be greatly appreciated.

Do as flacidego said, have your hormones checked. If you are actually Low T, you can get scripts for everything (almost) you need.
If you go the privatemdlabs.com route, sign up for their newsletter before buying the labs. They will send you a code for 15% off. Always good to save money!
Take it from someone who has screwed up. I wish I had started with a baseline for bloodwork instead of trying to figure it out after 2 years of self prescibed TRT. I knew my test level was low (96), what I didnt know is it was a result of long term pain pills. I had both knees replaced. It just makes your life that much easier to manage if you have all your numbers in front of you and you can chart a plan of action with a doctor. Just my 2 cents.
Long, as suggested below the first step is to get some blood work done and see if your in the right condition to use steroids.
At 44, you'll want to see what your natty test level is. Lots of guys start seeing their test levels drop at 44, so you may be on the verge of Low T already. You'll also want to check your cholesterol levels and get a PSA number ( prostate condition).
If your test is already low, go see your Dr or a low T clinic and get some test the legal way.
If you decide to go ahead and cycle you'll want to do lots of research first. You are messing with your endocrine system, and can fuck things up if you don't do it right.... hell, you can fuck things up even when you do it right.
Read up on first cycles, aromatase inhibitors, and PCT.
There is a section here on eroids called cycle logs, go read through some logs done by guys your age and see what kind of challenges they ran into.
Before you cycle, please consider this. You can probably add muscle mass and lose fat without steroids.
You diet right, with the right cardio and you'll see fat loss. You join a gym and start lifting weights instead of just bodyweight exercises and you'll add some lean mass.
Feel free to PM me with any questions, I'm also 40 something.
Yep...good advice from flacidego...get the female hormone panel, though, from privatemdlabs.com. You definitely need to
see whats going on inside ur body, prior to cycling. And, you can get body fat calipers on line, or from GNC, relatively inexpensive...
Check out groups...beginner cycles...

Just curious as I'm from the UK, but why would you get the female hormone panel if your a male?
I'm also UK based so getting blood work done is a bit costly and difficult especially if you want to avoid the NHS. If you're getting this done to check for low test etc then NHS is probably a good place to start but if you start cycling (and they know of course) be careful as they can and do note this on you're medical record which can cause all sorts of issues for medical and life insurance reasons down the line. There are some other issues with NHS testing (especially for on cycle bloods) test is capped and the methodology used can in certain circumstances yield false positives for high estrogen etc. I go private and depending on what I'm having done expect to pay between £99 and £250 a go. So factor that into your budgeting - one pre cycle test, at least one on cycle test (I like to have two) and one post PCT blood test. It starts to add up as you can see. Our friends across the pond are pretty lucky when it comes to the relatively cheap availability of private and confidential blood tests. Just something to consider. Good luck fella.
Thanks Dacky, I've been referred to an endocrinologist for possible TRT if the test comes in low, from the syptoms I'd say this is likely, finding one who knows about sports medicine is the hard part but I'll give it a try first.
Good luck brother. All the best.
It's a panel that is targeted to female buyers, but has everything we need as steroid users. IT's used by both genders.
Have you gotten a hormone panel done? You may have low T, and cycling could screw you up worse. Better to look into that first and see where your baseline is. There's guys here who ran one cycle and never recovered, so they're on TRT now. Start with a hormone panel looking into your testosterone, total testosterone, estradiol, and check thyroid.
