Late night carbs

ad

I know everyone preaches not to eat carbs after 7 or whatever bc it turns to fat. What about us guys that work out late? I workout around 7 everyday( during the week excluding friday). Should I still eat plenty of carbs right after I get done even though it's so late?

FYI I always do... I just wanna make sure I'm not doing harm with this and put it out for opinions for other guys that may be wondering the se thing. I haven't noticed any increase in bf% or anything.

oatmeal makes a great nite snak.. if I feel I need more carbs, I will have some at nite and notice it improves my morning workouts. .. if you are trying to grow never second guess your need for quality macro's.. and key word is quality. having sugary things and things high in sat. fat. should be avoided.

everybody is different, different metabolism, different daily activities, so everyone will be different in this regard. I always eat right before bed, and usually at minimum 40 grams of carbs. You should have no problem, people just say not to eat carbs before bed if your trying to lean out. I know personally, sometimes i gorge out on 200-300 grams of carbs before bed, and i wake up, just slam a protein shake with 2 grams of carbs, and have a great workout, so i know the carbs i ate from the night before are still available to use as energy at least 10-12 hours later. Bottomline though, if you havent noticed a problem, you dont need to change anything, if you do notice your starting to gain some unwanted weight around the waist, then you need to reevaluate what your eating and when. sounds to me like what your doing is working fine for you.

That is broscience dude. You can have carbs before you go to bed. In fact my buddy who is a certified personal trainer and amateur body builder eats like 50 grams of complex carbs before bed man. Obviously glycogen stores water so you may not think your losing weight but you defiantly wont be putting on fat unless you are eating above maintenance. Don't eat fucking sugar or anything like that but oatmeal or sweet potatoes are cool. If you are trying to put on weight and your one of those guys that has a fast metabolism you def need some carbs at night to prevent catabolism. As for your pwo meal yeah you need some high GI carbs but not loads prob around 30 grams depending on your size bf percentage or whatever. So CARBS before bed yes its ok! low GI. Carbs pwo yes, high GI.

Yeah. You're really lean. I'm lean too for the most part. I eat like crazy right now trying to put on weight. I always eat carbs after I workout though. Within 30 mins. I wanted to see what other people do when they workout late.

i also workout late, continue what youre doing bro, and if u start gaining some fat just cut down on the carbs, but when youre trying to put on weight sometimes u gain some fat, no big deal
