it needs some pretty high heat and time, a coffee heater works pretty well since it's low and consistent. I've used a microwave to drop it in before (clean microwave, not your parents cheese and chili crusted nightmare). It take's a few rounds and a lot of shaking, the friction helps it drop in quicker
