I got 315 for 8 yesterday on the bench, Numbers are way off since coming off blast cycle,

Older School's picture

That's still huge. How many can you put up at 315 when you are on blast? Good grief.

Harley1969's picture

Thanks OS. I think the most I ever got was 11 on a Tren cycle. We have a beast at our gym that got 315 for 23 reps and the dude is 100% natty. Weighs around 265 and is all muscle other than a little bit of belly.

DBG's picture

Strong natty bastard :-/
I know someone like that...dude is at least 10yrs younger than me and can just crush 400-450 for at least several reps then drop set to 315 for several more

Harley1969's picture

This guy friggin benched 605 in completion!

Older School's picture

Wow. Twenty-three reps is crazy. Goes to show there's always someone out there who is bigger, faster, stronger. Keeps me motivated.

Harley1969's picture

I've seen this guy take off 6 months from the gym and come back looking the same. No loss of muscle whatsoever. He's a freak

Older School's picture

I hate him already. LOL

DBG's picture

Imagine if he took some gear lol

Harley1969's picture

I've talked to him about it and he said naw man I don't need that. LOL

JL's picture

Maybe he is. My friend got testicular cancer and is now on TRT for life. He doesn't really lift or diet. He was very skinny with no real definition before the cancer. After being on trt for awhile he blew up and looks ripped. He goes with me to the gym every once in a while and can put up 225 on bench like its nothing. He does work in heavy construction, so that helps.

JL's picture

They have a top lift board at the gym Im at. My goal is to have my name on all three lifts. doesn't have to be #1 just on there. Definetly keeps me motivated seeing that board without my name in all 3 spots. One dude holds all three #1 spots. He is like 6' TREE tall and like 360 lbs of muscle. It wouldn't make a difference in how I train. His size conquers all..

JL's picture

I hate that sinking feeling when returning to normal human strength. 315 for 8 is really good.

Harley1969's picture

Thanks bro. I feel bad for the pct guys. I stay on trt/cruise so never get that completely coming off feeling. At my age I feel I wasn't producing much test anyway.

DBG's picture

Train for strength then...gotta have the right protocol at play. Take a year and just do power training cycles...you'll keep most of what you have as far as strength when coming off, like 90%

JL's picture

Thats pretty much what I do. I lift heavy for about 9 months of the year. Then cut in the spring. I lift at about 80% and increase cardio going into summer. Usually I slack off a little in the summer depending on how much bbq, parties and vacations are happening. lol

DBG's picture

Gotta hit your 70-80% ORM, with a few diff sets and reps...cycle it and such, with the big lifts...bench deads squats!! I love it. I still do hypertrophy exercises and reps too, here and there

JL's picture

Funny you say that. I literally just started really pushing my orm on the 3 big lifts. In the past I've been cautious to avoid possible injury. I changed gyms and meeting new people. It's been very motivating to be some place new. There are more like minded lifters that giving me the push I need.

DBG's picture

Awesome man. Gotta keep the motivation strong! I recently switched to a new place myself...threw down some cash to gain a strength coach and get on a team.

Older School's picture

That's some cool shit right there. You get nutritional advice from that coach?

DBG's picture

You bet. It's like a re-education...or a complete education. Dude is a world known professional, it's the whole shebang and I'm in it for good!

JL's picture

Hit a new pr today on squats 425! 5 weeks in on grrls test. Let the fun begin.
Plus got my second order in. Damn mail man put a RO on me. Apparently jumping in the mail van and trying to find my pack before he gets to my house is frowned upon.

Older School's picture

Nice work, brother. I ain't there yet.

JL's picture

I've always had strong legs. I think its from all the years of MX and cross country racing. I need serious improvement on chest and biceps. My bench is only 315 ( I might be able to go a little higher now).

DBG's picture

Just got the hematocrit lowered!!

JL's picture

Lol! I was there on Friday. Next time we should carpool.

Older School's picture

Set a new personal bench press record last week. Put up 415 lbs. No problem. I think I could have bumped 425, but us old guys are always scared about our muther effen joints.

DBG's picture

Wow...that's nice man!

Older School's picture

Thanks, bro. But you and I both know I can bench more than I squat. LOL

DBG's picture

Yep haha...def total opposite for me
