Myofacial release is finding knots and applying constant pressure for 30-45 seconds. Usually done with a foam roller. I do it with clients all the time. I agree that a couples massage or something more relax in would be a good gift. I would stay away from the rough ones, at least not for her. You would benefit from a good sports/deep tissue massage. It's unbelievable actually. Anyone who lifts hard should get them regularly. Not so much for the wife though.

I agree with bigjay. The main reason I was not happy was the horrible massage. As a thick guy I prefer mine rough with a lot of pressure. The 2 massage therapists my wife and I had were sporting a combined weight of under 250 lbs. The chick I usually go to is over 6 foot and heavy. Not much to look at but great massage tho.
