How would it get sun exposure if it's wrapped in a package, in a shipment containing more packages, inside of a vehicle/in a plane, inside a facility, and in your mailbox? Where does the sun exposure happen?

My tracking updated and says it is on it's way. If the mail person asks me to sign should I decline or just sign it? I am nervous about signing for the packages.
