I’m not sure what I’m going to accomplish posting this picture. In late 2019 I was 25 lbs leaner strong and killing the gym, for me at least. 2020 hits and I’ve lost all motivation to hit the weights and do cardio. When I do go it’s like I’m counting the seconds until I get to leave the gym. Idk what to do, I can’t seem to get my mind back in the right place. For whatever reason night time is my weakness and typically when my diets fail, I have this terrible all or nothing mentality that kills my drive if I slip up just a little, it will just spiral into a 7 day long carbapalooza ! Here goes nothing prolly gonna take some shit for this but maybe that’s what my fat ass needs!!

I just went through it. I got my motivation back when I saw how skinny and weak I looked.
God man I wish I looked in the mirror and saw skinny! All I see is how my love handles are wider than my shoulders! :(
BUT everyday presents new opportunities for growth, no matter how shitty I eat I’ve been training hard and strength is going up, even got a few compliments on my arms from some honeys at work lol. Dad bud on point lol

AnonI don't do all my training in the gym. A lot happens at home. I control the music, no masks, and I can train no matter what time it is. I will do dumbbell shoulder press from my computer chair while on Eroids. Sometimes before I shower I tell myself I might as well train and break a sweat now because I don't wanna sweat after taking a shower. So I got in this habit of pre shower home workouts.
Don't rely on the gym alone. Do home workouts too. That's my advice.

It’s looks clean AF mon- Friday then for whatever reason I guess bc I lack self control a few beers or splitting a dessert with the wife at a restaurant turns into an all out fucking binder with food it’s disgusting! And that’s if I can get back on track by Monday

The older I get the easier it has been to not eat late at night. Unless I smoke pot.
Not saying you are but that’s the only way I’d put 25 lbs of fat on that fast and have no motivation in the gym. So if your are please stop and your motivation will return and your appetite will be easier to control

Everybody's motivation is a bit different. It really doesn't matter what it is, as long as it sticks. I personally have a fear of being a "has been" ie a fat slob of walking death. I'm going to ride this shit show until my wheels fall off.
Like most people these days, I've had problems with depression and self worth/image. I found out years ago that pain and suffering, through exercise, quite the mind. Once I started, it just kept building on its self, diet, supplements, etc.
There is no answer I can give you. You have to find your own catalist to get your fire burning.
