My bench went up 45 pounds, just checked that in today!

We are talking since hoping on the 50 dbol I’ve barbell pressed now four times? Was stuck on dumbbells for a while..

I chew that 25mg pre workout and I feel mad

If only my labrum would allow it :(

Sackbird's picture

I got hit by a car in 2012 and tore my labrum and rotator cuff. Had surgery but it hasn’t been the same since. I usually use low(ish) doses of nandrolone to lube it up a little bit, but it’s the first thing to start hurting when I’m lifting heavy. Incline bench is fine for me, it’s the shoulder presses that get my shit barking. I use more of a neutral grip with dumbbells or shoulder press machine and that seems to help.

I was told to do that too. Trying to decide what to do. I'm thinking pt. Sx is most def not my aim though. I don't wanna go near the knife. How much Nan are you running if you don't mind my asking

scoobydoo's picture

Does your shoulder pop sometimes when you raise your arm?

MikeP2828's picture

I wouldn't say pop but it's something. I usually feel it after anything uppers lol. I can most def tell a diff wh3n I lift heavy and I back down. I'm 40, and learned to listen to my body (somewhat) more than I did in my 20s

scoobydoo's picture

Was it a sudden injury or did it kind of creep up on you?

MikeP2828's picture

It crept up. Didn't feel a pop or tear. I just knew it was way more aggravated than ever had been before and after (like a fool) doing it again a few more times a guy who was a trainer from another gym, recruiting trainees, stopped me and said stay off that shit. It's been giving me trouble since then that's been years, but what do you do? You try to find other things to do that don't compromise it worse, or you get it fixed and possibly never be able to do much after. It's a gamble. I'm anti knife unless 100% necessary. I work healthcare, I see mistakes constantly. I'd prefer not to be one of them bc rarely will you win in court, and that's if you even know it happened.

scoobydoo's picture

It's possible you're running in to the same issue I've had. A lot of exercises work your front and outer deltoids. Those muscles get stronger than the rear deltoids and will pull the shoulder forward. Eventually causing some pretty bad pain. I stopped my shoulder exercises and just did exercises that would isolate my rear deltoids. I also did/do a lot of arms out to the sides reverse circles. It would take a month or more for the pain to stop. The pain was pretty bad and my shoulder would pop when I raised my arm. I could hear it and so could people near me. I couldn't sleep on that side either.

MikeP2828's picture

-- you may be onto something. I tend to sleep on that shoulder too. Can't seem to sleep any other way

scoobydoo's picture

My shoulder hurt so bad that I couldn't sleep on it.

Buddy torn his throwing javelin in high school, crazy how he wasn’t even stellar at it; surgery was rough and perc 30s had him nodding, I’m blessed to never have had such injuries, always had a bit higher estrogen maybe that had something to do with it?

It sounds painful. I've only had an umbilical hernia surgery.

ChuckThaDuck22's picture

Ouchie, I’ feel for you

Strictly dumbell work for now?

MikeP2828's picture

As it stands. Sucks bc I have the strength to push way more but feeling something move in there.... no thanks. I'll stick with less lol. Smith machine for bench fd me up. Live and learn.

ChuckThaDuck22's picture

Christ, tell me you weren’t flat benching on the smith

Long time ago.... before I had any guidance. I see anyone near it benching I immediately, strongly suggest stopping that shit. I learned.

ChuckThaDuck22's picture

We live & learn, plus too the beginner this machine is marketed as some sort of safer alternative..

I love using it for upper chest it almost never aggro my rotator cuff

The Jones machine is the only one I would use. It moves vertical and horizontal.

ChuckThaDuck22's picture

I looked this up. Neat shit

scoobydoo's picture

They are nice. They allow full natural movement.

ChuckThaDuck22's picture

What I’m looking at though I’m just seeing vertical, besides the cable towers in the back if that’s what you’re referring too

scoobydoo's picture

Look at the inside top and bottom of a Jones machine. There's rails that allow the bar and bar rack horizontal movement.

ChuckThaDuck22's picture

I 100% just watched a YouTube video, I’d like this at my rec center gym, I’m stuck with the 5 lb floating bar smith machine for squats. Something just doesn’t feel the same, gonna have to order a power rack , barbell and plates to go with it and build something at home

scoobydoo's picture

I got a deal from Walmart for a power rack. $109.

ChuckThaDuck22's picture

That’s what’s up, I copd my pull-up and dip station for 89$

The rack comes with a pull-up bar and it has movable dip bars.

Remove packing

MikeP2828's picture

There ya go.

Rosschestzip's picture

It’s against the rules to post packaging material in the picture, so that second photo is fine but that first one should be deleted, he wasn’t saying to remove it so we could see better, but to get rid of it for security purposes
