Was kiling it at the gym, doing incline tri's, had a 100lb ez curl bar and forgot i had a dumbbell at my feet. Went to put the bar down and smashed my finger in between the bar and dumbbell. And wouldnt ya know, smashed the tip of my finger off.

Been a couple days now, how ya doing? Finger healing well?
Stitches out, bone is basically in 5 peices. Am opting to have the tip surgically removed so i can have grip strength.
Man all this over a simple mistake - sucks.

I was working out with my boy. We were using 110lb dumbbells on incline or decline I can't remember but he would always throw them down and the would bounce so the one day they bounced and landed on a dudes foot next to us. We didn't know what to do. The guy screamed so loud the whole gym was looking at us. Embarrassed to say the least. I don't know what came of it but lesson learned. That finger looks like it hurts. Hopefully it doesn't keep you out of the gym to long. I see legs in your future.

It was a accident and the guy who did it is a good dude. I guess I said it wrong he didn't throw them. He dropped them after a set and they bounced cause there heavy. You got a way with words bud you should write a book.
I personally have seen 160lb dumbbells bounce from just a foot drop, shit happens bro. When you are lifting heavy and going hard, you go to failure and dropping the weights is completely normal. Im 100% sure your buddy meant no harm to anyone.

But people also need to be aware of their surroundings in the gym...and life in general. you see someone doing heavy db presses step aside and wait. Same thing in the street dont be on your phone standing the middle of the fawking st on your phone against the light.
Came within inches of running some idiots foot over cause they insisted on standing 5 ft into the street, on their phone, and in the car lane. I beeped the horn and they still stood there. Not sure how i didnt run them over but i kept looking in the rear view to see if they would yell something. then i would have put the car in reverse and had some fun ;]

Not sure what happened after that day. I never saw him again but my boy said sorry and we kept it moven. It was a bad situation. I wanted to laugh at how he steamed but wanted to give him a hug cause I know that shit hurt. Bahaha. I watch my feet and the people around me at gyms cause they do some weird exercises. I go the YMCA now. It's nice but alot of older people.
I prefer older people nowadays Lol They are much better to live around as they are so quiet and cause no stress or trouble, and I bet for you it means the heavier weights are always free to use when you train!

This old dude 73, who used to drive the plant machinery on site previously worked in farm settings and had the 3 tips of his fingers cut off. Hope it heals quick, push exercises will be easier than curls etc. I've bashed my finger tips with hammers and other things but nothing that bad. Just black nail for my trouble.

Oof. I feel for ya man, I think a lot of the time we forget how easily this weight we are moving can hurt us if we’re not paying attention. I smushed my finger not too long ago too, luckily it was only with a 45lb plate, left a nice black finger nail.

Its funny bro, i literally went "shit, i just boke the nail off my finger" and kind shook it around. The guy next to me wiped his face and said "dude, your bleeding bad". The adrenaline was pumping and didnt really feel it until i got to the ER lol.

jayiskhave 2 fingertips severed in a work accident. luckily not the whole tip and it went down to where i still have some nail left.
remember the hand surgeon looking at the little bone sticking off one tip. He said you wouldnt be needed that and clipped it off.
since there is a nerve at the tip of your finger and its damaged it will feel very strange touching anything with that finger. almost feels like a metal cap covering that finger tip when you go to press on anything.
shit man that sucks. wish you a speedy recovery. I had the skin graft taken from the inside palm of my hand to cover the missing part and stitch it up. sometimes that cut it from your ass.
Damn. Yeah i have very little feeling left. Im going to have the skin graft from my ass lol. I have a very hands on job, that happen on sunday and went back to work monday morning at 3am, was back in the gym a week later. Thanks bro for the well wishes.
