safe slin use

ad

pictured is Humalog "quick pens" & Glucagon. I also use a blood glucose test meter. I check my blood sugar level in the locker room after my workout & administer the appropriate number of slin units (20-30 iu) while drinking the necessary post-workout shake. The Glucagon injection pictured is in case I go way too hypoglycemic and soda or juice won't suffice. Slin is very effective, yet very dangerous. It's imperative you notify you wife, girlfriend or roommate of your use. My wife has saved my ass once by pouring maple syrup in my mouth after noticing the effects of my sugar levels crashing( sweating, shaking, pale skin, combative demeanor). Not fun. Be careful!

man 20-30 units seems awfully high...epecially since you would need 10carbs per iu to balance that. even if you are pinning that much maybe edit that so someone doesnt come in and read it and think thats a normal dose

you are correct in the danger associated w/ my dose. That dose took a few months to achieve. That's why i said "DO YOUR HOMEWORK. TELL SOMEONE CLOSEST TO YOU WHAT YOU ARE DOING. EDUCATE THAT PERSON AS WELL. " I also recently started wearing a dog tag that states " diabetic on insulin". You can never be too careful w/ insulin.

wow guy... 20-30 iu's!!

Crap... I would only hit 5-8 iu's post w/o... and that still would sometimes put me border line hypo even w/ 100g dextrose shake.

I had the same pens too. Very quick and easy to dose out in the car, at the gym!

that sounds really funny dude. I used slin for months (post w/o only) and never had any reactions after stopping, using a lil extra slin here and there will not fuck w/ your body that much!

I agree. Consider the amount used by all pros out there. Like anything, there is obviously a right way and a wrong way to do this. I highly doubt any trophy is worth diabetes type 1. So to those considering slin, get a blood glucose meter, do your homework (& lots of it) and be sure to be honest w/ someone close to you in the event you go hypo & need them to squirt honey or a Coke down your gullet.

"hypoglycemic" means your glucose levels are LOW. Going hypo 2 wks after stopping slin doesn't make sense. That's the opposite of what could happen. Slin lowers your sugars. While using slin your pancreas isn't releasing it's usual amounts of insulin because you're taking extra. So when you stop and your body has no source of insulin, your blood sugar levels elevate. This is observed through frequent peeing, like every 2 hrs during the night, eye sight can suffer, and irritability in some folks. With cycle of a few months in a healthy individual, the pancreas will work again and natural insulin levels will regulate, bringing sugars DOWN to a normal level 0f 80-120. This is why becoming diabetic is a nasty risk of slin use. Your pancreas won't work, sugars are high & now you depend on insulin w/ every meal for the rest of your life. Then kidney failure, dialysis, a transplant. Ahh i love being soo vain.

unless your pancreas suddenly "woke up" 2 wks later and sent out a large dose of insulin. That would drop your blood sugar and make you feel hypo. Nothing a soda won't fix. No biggie.

Doesn't make sense. What was your protocol?
