+ 4 Recomp Challenge
75 days ago I enrolled into a challenge at my gym for free membership and personal training for a year.
I had done caliper BF test a few months prior and was about 15% according to that, but for this challenge they used an In-Body electrical impedance machine to calculate water, muscle, and fat independently. To my shock and dismay I tested at 29.8% BF (63.7lbs), 109.8 lbs of water, and 40.4 lbs of dry muscle for a total body weight of 213.9.
I just did my exit test and my numbers are:
20% bf (45 lbs) for reduction of 18.7 lbs of pure bf
122.2 lbs of water for a gain of 12.4 lbs of water
45.4 lbs of muscle for a gain of 5 lbs of dry muscle
total body weight 218 lbs
So, in summation, I lost 18.7 lbs bf while reducing bf % by 9.8 and gained 17.4 lbs lean body mass.
I thought I would be sub 10% but I must have had a wicked amount of subcutaneous fat to have been off so much on the calipers. :-(
I would never have ran gear at such a high bf had I known, but I did train hard and worked the kitchen! I will know if I won tomorrow.

AnonYou did well......look at you you are way lower than 20%.....more like 15 or 16
+2
+1. Great job! Keep it up!
Okay... First you're not 20%. In my gym they have the electronic device and they preceded the test by saying this is KNOWN to give a reading of +/- at least 3%. That a big difference. I used the thing in my gym and came out at 19. Something and I told them there's no way... So they did a six point caliper test and I tested out at 13% !!!! Now I know you're not 13% but you're certainly lower than 20 % in my opinion. There's just Too many factors that can influence the electronic devices for them to be accurate. Sweaty palms being one of them..
Anyway , good job just at working hard and training hard brother !! Keep killing it and soon you'll be saying am I 10% ??!!!!
Looking good! If you don't mind me asking, what did your regime look like? As in, what did you run, what did you eat, how long, and what did training look like?
I ran test, mast, tren, and var. I switched my workouts up from cross-fit, strongman, and bodybuilding routines. I competed strongman and took 4th. Diet was low to no carbs and high protien. I had a few cheat meals, but I stayed the path for the most part. I am not even done with my cycle so a few more lbs fat loss should be coming my way before the end. I will hit 12% before my next one to get maximum results.
Hell of an improvement bro!! Even though you are no where near 20%. 15% I'd say! I don't trust those machines they are garbage!! Still you have had huge improvements!! +1 from me!!
Thanks bro! I appreciate the encouraging words. This is my new lifestyle so it will come in time
Those machines are shit man. No way your body fat is that high. Great job!
+1 keep killin it bro!
WithdrawlOutstanding job!!! As for those machines that scan your body to determine its composition, I'm not sold on them. It just seems that the BF % always coming back way high. Judging by your pic I'd say there's no way in hell your 20% BF. You've got to be much lower. Anyway, great job man, those are awesome results! +1
biggerthanyouYou think he is lower than 20% in this pic? Seems bout right to me lol
But hey bro good work losing 10% bf in 75 days is BADASSSS!!!
+1 from me but hey keep it up and keep improving you got this bro
I can handle the truth if that is the case. I am gonna hit the kitchen and get to 12% before my next cycle. Thanks for keeping it real.
biggerthanyouNo way to REALLY tell bro but like I said keep at it and stay motivated! You doing any fasted cardio? That shit shreds my ass up in a hurry. Wake up, cup of black coffee, bottle of water, wait 30 mins then get after it alternating longer distance low intensity one day then high intensity sprints the next! Try it out you will thank me :)))
Ill throw that in the mix. Thanks
That is what I thought too! I was gonna hang myself when I got hit with the 30 burger! LOL
If it is off, it is off for everyone though so it is fair I guess.
