Had my bloodwork ran to hopefully start TRT but the Dr. said my natural levels were to high for TRT, what do you guys think.

593 looks decent on paper, but paper doesn’t tell the whole story, brother.
If it were me, I’d hit your doc with a couple questions:
First … Is TRT about life quality or just chasing a number on a lab sheet?
Because if a guy feels like trash at 593, that number means nothing.
Second … Do numbers always match symptoms?
We all know guys who feel amazing at 350…
and others who feel terrible unless they’re sitting at 800–900. Everyone’s biology is different.
Third … Why not treat the patient, not the reference range?
If the symptoms are there … low energy, shit libido, poor recovery, brain fog … then 593 isn’t “high,” it’s “not enough for you.
Let’s see what your doctor brings to the table after that.
Depending on his answer … or his level of arrogance … I’d fire him on the spot.
If ur interested in trt you wont get it from dr. Those are great natural levels actually. Idk true trt dosages it won’t really get better imo unless you up it a bit, but thats cruising. Other things can be causing symptoms
Your levels are great man, no need for TRT based on those. Unfortunately there are tons of other conditions that share many of the same symptoms as low T.
Have you ever cruised on a low dose test similar to what you’d be on for TRT? Keeping your levels at 1000 or less? If so did you feel way better?
Last year I cruised at 200mgs a week pretty the whole year and I felt amazing. I've been natural now for the better part of 8mths and I feel like death warmed over. I'm supposed to go back in 3wks to be tested again, if my levels come back in the normal range again and the Doc want write me a script then I'll just continue to cruise at 200mgs a week on my own.
If you felt way better on 200mg of test then maybe 593 total test is not enough for you and you need to be closer to 1000. Do you know where your levels were on 200mg ew? For some guys that can be 800-1000 while others get close to 2000 on 200.
HRT clinics most likely will write you a script with a 600 total test. You’re older so I would tell them your doctor checked your T levels every few years and you used to be around 1000ng/dl and over the last 5 or so years your levels have dropped to where they are now and during that time all the symptoms of low T have crept up on you. Going from 1000 to 600 probably isn’t much different than someone who was 600 and dropped to 200. The decrease is relative.
I've been really feeling like shit for the past 6-8months I had every symptom of low T I just knew it was crazy low. Now it's back to the drawing board to figure out why I've been feeling so bad.
Damn dude that is what a lot of K4L guys are getting on a gram a week. Lucky
I doubt you'll find an endocrinologist willing to prescribe TRT with those levels. Online clinics, probably will gladly sign you up though...

The clinics don’t really care, you may have trouble getting the 200mg weekly dose if your levels are 800 I’d think, I’m sure they get some kind of audit, but endocrinologists and urologists can be assholes. In my network they won’t even consider it unless you’re at 290, even then they want to explore other options. I was at 375 with a list of symptoms and they wanted to put me on 3-4 different medications instead of testosterone.
Private clinics will give it to damn near anyone regardless of test levels. They say they’re treating symptoms, not numbers. But for insurance companies to pay for the script they have thresholds for how low you have to be or they won’t pay. That’s probably 300 or maybe 400.
I was told 300, but this was 10 years ago, in the midwest. I tested at 305, but fortunately I had a sensible doc at the time, put me on once a week Xyosted script, and it was life-changing.
