Off cycle, trying to get the bf down to around 14% without gear. Every diet I try has little success.
6"4 225
21.5% bf
Currently on 5 days low carb, 1 moderate, 1 high, repeat.
I train an HR of mma every day followed by lifting

+2 for getting that bf down before cycle!!
In turn, the lower your bf% the greater bioavailability muscle mass will have to assimilate protein.
I understand the principles I just feel like my diet and training fuck it up. I train an hour a day mma (heavy cardio) and lift after that. That throws a wrench in everything I don't know how when or what to eat because of that
opticxYou can either be really shredded and 220-250 and call yourself a bodybuilder, or you could maybe be a really great mma fighter.. but not both. Okay you could be a decent bodybuilder and have a decent body but not a lot of size. You said yourself you don't follow a diet for more than 3 weeks so what is the point in us making a diet for you if you wont follow it? I also notice your taking t4 which is very catabolic considering how much your training and the lack of nutrition.
If you aren't taking it as presribed by a doctor drop that shit
If you don't have current labs, hormone panel, get some
opticxGrrl its not me taking the t4 its the op :( dont be mad at me
oops sorry I didn't mean to snap at you.. I think I m going to throw in my hat on this one
opticxIve never touched t4 hehe, If I lower carbs and do cardio I shrink like a popped blowfish. Yeah me too I dont know how to help someone who doesn't know what they want.
that's all I do if I want drop some fluff.. get rid of some carbs and do about 20min of cardio first thing (after my coffee) in the morning
I'd follow a diet that I know is going to work. I mostly try to tailor diets that I've read online myself, but they don't seem to work for me (as you can see my training isn't the most normal). I came for help so I can get help to personalize something for me that WILL work. I am willing to do what it takes to get that six pack
opticxAgain this is a life style change not just a diet, and you have to be willing to follow a diet for at least 8 weeks. It will come down to discipline, also when was the last time you've gotten bloods done? including thyroid, lipids and a full hormone panel.
I understand that. Discipline is not my problem. I've followed diets and weighed food and counted macros. I am getting blog work done soon funny you should ask
opticxWell im out of this one, no sense in beating a dead horse. I work more with the competitors. You have to follow a diet for more than 3 weeks my man. Get your bloods done and maybe someone will be able to help you but your trying to do to much it seems. Id either pick bodybuilding or mma you cant be the best at both.
you want to lose fat and build muscle according the post and numbers you put up in the diet clinic.... pretty much the impossible job especially considering your training schedule.. the heavy cardio is eating up muscle and not the kind of cardio conducive to burning up fat.. then you are lifting afterwards.. not the time to be training trying to build muscle. Is there anyway you can split the training up? Do you train MMA every day? what is your end goal as in what do you want to do .. be an MMA guy, fight, etc etc.. just look good? Because, until your priorities match what you are actually doing no diet or traing regime is going to get you to 220lb at 14 to 15% bf when you are starting out at 228lbs
I am willing to split the training up. I have practice at night every day that I go to. I can get up early in the morning before work and lift if that is required. I have no desire to go professional fighting, but I do enjoy it and do not want to give it up. I am willing to do what it takes to achieve my goal with your guys help
opticxStick with a diet for 2-3 months making adjustments along the way, that's how they work best
