Tonight’s session. Not a finished product here just a rehab cycle come to a close. Full thickness tear right shoulder kept me from really doing work.
Finished cycle at 255. Up around 14lbs give or take a lb from start of cycle. Diet was on point. Very little bf added at all very happy to see the weight gained all ended up in the upper body as was my goal.

Thanks brother Dope! Hopefully after the surgery I’ll be back at it and able to train like before. I’ve lost close to 100lbs overall on my presses. I definitely cant wait to get back to normal.

I have been to the dr more times this year than almost my whole life. Once you commit to staying on the long term philosophy it’s almost mandatory to check in with the dr and actually listening to them. My PT is the shit. She’s a bit of a fitness chic and wow she knows her shit. I kept telling my wife I’m slowly falling in love with my PT! Lol

Is Flat bench just too dangerous to perform? I'm thinking it must be very uncomfortable doing incline when its so much shoulder strength in the movement.
I stick to smith now. Less use of the stabilizer muscles which locks me in to form. I can do flat but I really wanted to force the connection of front delts and upper chest. My physical therapist gave me a list of exercises I could do and flat bench was not on it. No overhead shoulder presses or side laterals but rear lateral was a green light.
It was tough trying to stay within my PTs list of approved movements and get the gains I knew I wanted. I just stayed in my lane and made up for it with volume and disciplined 4 days a wk at the gym.
Hey mate credit to you for sticking to what she outlined you can do and not getting tempted to just think F it and work outside the guidelines - Very responsible & disciplined. I can imagine though that after going through what must be an awful experience in terms of surgery and followed by mind numbing time off the last thing you are tempted to do is undo everything and injure yourself again. Well done for staying positive through it all +
Surgery still yet to come in march. This has all been with 1.9cm x1.7cm full thickness tear. I thought maybe I could avapid surgery with PT but when I saw the surgeon he said I couldn’t make it worse but it will never heal. At my age and with my lifestyle he thought surgery was the only option
How long does that put training out for afterwards then pal - does it take about an hour in theatre?
3 months before I can start training again. Not sure exactly how long but it’s 3 small incisions. All done outpatient so I imagine it will be super fast. My ortho was very confident I get up to 95% full recovery to where I was prior to the tear.
Do you have plans in place for those 3 months you can't train so you have other things to occupy you and make you feel good? I'm guessing you can still do lower body such as leg press, abs, calves?
I've had a nagging pain in both shoulders that comes and goes from time to time and incline bench is more comfortable for me, I can hit 365 for 2 or 3 reps without any pain but when I switch to flat bench something about the position/angle aggravates my shoulder.

Thanks bro. Hasn’t been easy with the shoulder. I keep staring at it. You can see where it’s sagging compared to the left side. Strength has been overall very good considering. Gone up in 2 rep PR (315) on incline chest and 10rep set (365) on Romanian deadlift. Focused on volume on all other movements. Legs, arms, lats, delts all volume. Need to get down to 215-225 before I ever try and bulk again. My body type just wants to bulk. Even on low cal. Kind of sucks man. The holidays fucked me all up. I know better too
