Manateeswimmer5678One of my friends was a top three qualifier in the local NPC show with your height and came in at 180ish lean. 20 added pounds on you should do wonders just make sure to emphasize on the show muscles that enhance the muscular look on stage like the delts chest and lats . Nice work man!

You would have done well 8 years ago when they opened the division. The guys competing today are much bigger. I’d say at least 20 pounds to be competitive locally.
I see what you mean. Guys are coming in with body builder size, but lean. I love that my genetics keep me lean, but it’s so hard to put on weight.
When I started cycling around 26 you’re about right where I was at. Solid foundation. I’ve added 20lbs LBM over the last few years once I got training and diet finally squared away. I sit at 185-190 <10% bf now at 5’6. Heaviest I’ve been is 210 and that shit was uncomfortable to hold for even a few months. Snoring, BP up all the time, exhausted during the day. I competed bodybuilding and I would cut to 176 for my class. Not sure if there are limits on physique based on height or not but you always want to come in peeled at the upper limit of your class.
Dang you got up to 200 at 5’6”? With my genetics and high metabolism, that may be out of reach for me. I feel like I do look proportional for my size though so maybe I won’t need to add as much weight: I appreciate the input though. So what you’re saying is try to come in looking big as a can without sacrificing conditioning

Damn 5’7” 190lbs? 30 lbs is a lot lol. I was thinking bulk to 180ish then cut to 170. I think if I can walk step on stage with 10 more lbs of solid muscle, I’d be pretty good.
Bud you know more about this area than me no doubt, I just train to lift the most weight I can. I just know at that weight and height you would have some good size without being too stocky. Hell I've seen guy's at 5'7 who are 300 and they look humongous but I cannot imagine that is the look you are going for Lol
I guess you’re right. Isn’t jay cutler pretty short? I think it’s all about how your body adapts to the weight gain. Everyone is different. Genetics play a big role imo
20-25 pounds. But you have a great start and potential
