ad

Not really gear but it is my gear in a way i Always wanted a gym at my house so i said fuck it and laid 1” rubber flooring mats down and set up a squat rack with a flat bench,incline,decline full adjustable bench with bar and also full dumbbells from 10-90 lbs selecttech dumbbells and body solid black curl bar and olympic black bench bar also put in a body solid leg press/hack squat machine and a body solid leg curl/ext machine have a couple of each set 10’s,25’s,35’s,and 45 lb plates and last put in a hvt cable machine. Turned out decent to train at home.the next thing i buy is a rogue olive drab green camo operator 3.0 olympic bench/squat bar and a hot pink and black bella bench/squat bar for the wife going to get this in a week or so i will post a new current picture after i receive them from rogue fitness. The second pic i added more flooring and a cable crossover machine with different attachments and a battle rope now the basement is complete for now.

First time seeing a plate loaded cable crossover machine. Guess you can load up the weight on that if you wanted. Nice set up!
Man I miss training ;}

Yeah the plate loaded is nice on the cable cross over i will load up 3-5 10’s and do a drop set for the last set of whatever workout im doing just do one set and slide off a ten and keep on going.

How much did that cost?

Sneakerzilla's picture

To be honest i cant remember the exact amount i paid. I bought one machine than thought about what else i needed and than i would get that and get it setup to make sure i had enough room the cable cross over was the last thing i got since it was the longest i wanted to make sure i had room for the squat rack and leg press plus have enough room to move around.

Lol, that's solid as hell bro. I'm a home gym guy too, i have good free weights so work out at home mostly but i do have a membership for anytime fitness to hit the cable machines, leg press, etc. - stuff I really wish I had at home but don't - not yet anyway......

Yeah bro its nice being able to just go down to my basement and train any body part i want Anytime of the day it makes it nice.

That is awesome. I’m a home gym guy all the way. Yours is more sophisticated than mine. Half of mine is handmade by myself out of lumber and lag bolts lol.

Hell yeah on going American made for your barbells. I don’t know how the gunmetal finish on those Rogue bars affect the chemistry of the metal but the fact that it’s American steel underneath would give me peace of mind.

If anyone is secretly thinking it’s unnecessary to get a bar that’s a different color for his wife, bear in mind women’s bars are different than men’s. They have a mass of 15 kg and a smaller diameter. It makes a huge difference.

Training is training doesnt matter if its nice equipment or home made getting it in is getting it in brother. Yeah getting the wife her own bar will make a huge difference since the bar diameter is smaller she has small hands and using the mens 20kg bar is harder for her.

Yes. The one thing I’m adamant about is having a quality barbell. I can fashion almost any apparatus out of wood but I can’t do smithing. I wouldn’t trust a Chinese made barbell like you find at commercial gyms over my head, chest, or back. I keep telling myself I’m gonna spring for the Ivanko competition grade needle bearing when I have the cash, but $1,200 is a lot of money for me to spend on that. One day.

Among my “who woulda thought?” type of discoveries building equipment is: the wooden fixed incline bench I made is really comfortable on the back with no padding at all. Lats provide all the cushion I need. More cushion for the pushin’. Lol.

Hell yeah the ivanko comp is a great bar i cant to get both of mine ordered its going to be nice using them

Nice. I’ve got free weights and plate loaded machines in my basement and 11 vintage nautilus machines in my garage. I’ve found govdeals to be a great place to pick up commercial stuff at a good price. I bought a couple of machines from Penn State. +1

Hell yeah i just wish i had a little bit more room to add a couple more machines. Behind where im standing is a couch and tv so if i take all that out and have a whole gym in the basement not gym/tv room i could add some more!! Might have to do that brother.
