Dude I love the honesty of your use, I myself fought drug used ( pills, coke, whatever) after being hurt in afghanstain, and weightlifting ( Olympic style) changed mylife as well. Not to many people want to remember where they started and look back..... But as the say goes, you can never know where your going until you know where you have been! Good work , keep lifting, and remember your story and try to help others who show the will to change! GOD BLESS THE U>S>A!!
Yeah i hear ya! I felt the same way with drinking etc but i was in my 30s so good for you and i hope you get into it bigtime keep it up mate respect
Good for you bro. That's really inspiring and I wish you the best. Big difference from when you were using. Keep up the good work.
xelnaga13I've always suspected that many ex-drug users find their way out by getting into this sport.
Before I got into this sport I used to have the desire to get drunk 3x times a week... like black out drunk. Around 5pm on some nights I get really anxious and bored.. and that typically led me to the beer store. It wasn't even fun, most of the time just by myself while i zoned out in front of my tv.
I've been lifting my whole life. But about 8 months ago I started looking at life differently. I turned 26 and realized that I wasnt living my life... or even pursuing things that I enjoy. It really kicked me in the ass and got me to take every aspect of my life seriously. I don't do anything half assed. The gym, kitchen, school, family, friends... I hit each item with 110% enthusiasm.
Since then... I dont have any interest in drinking... I know that drinking prevents me from doing my best at life.
56tooLife is one big rollercoaster my friend with highs and lows. A couple years ago you came out of the trough and now are headed to the peak. Remember this; Its not the destination but the journey there that is rewarding bro, ENJOY and don't get off!
