My baseline blood tests

ad

Started my cycle last night. Got my bloods this morning (had them sampled the day before).
Looks normal except I have High BUN/CREATININE RATIO at 20 and LH Hormone levels at 10.2. I'm out of my depth here. Can someone please shed any light on my labs?

I would get a blood test in 30 days and if your BUN level is the same or worse you might consider lowering protein intake for month and test bloods again. Bun is the one to be concerned about as it tells you how well your kindneys are functioning. You want to keep bun level within normal range.

LH can be simulated by allot of things like DAA, test boosters, etc.. have you been using any supplements lately?

Several years ago man, this is basically my first cycle. I have 1 child and another on the way I'm pretty sure both are mine lol haha haven't had issues there if LH has anything to do with that stuff. I think 2004 was my first. Winstrol and Sus250. Then in 2008 Winstrol only. Yes both poorly executed and lacked education. I consider this my first cycle.

Did you workout before your blood test?

No I didn't. Blood test were done very early in the morning about 7:30am - did not get a chance to workout.

Ok...so this is what I have...release of gonadotropin hormones are released by pulses and not a constant rate. In males, There is a positive correlation between lh and fsh levels. I would imagine that a higher amount of lh is released due to it having a shorter half life than fsh. It's possible that your blood was taken directly after a pulse..I would recommend having another test run in the afternoon to see if thebresultsbare accurate

But what would high LH in a man mean with normal test? Assuming my reading is accurate.

I would think that it's due to the "pulse-like" release of Lh.....the only thing you can do to prove/disprove is to replicate the results by getting additional blood tests

It's possible that it could be hypergonadotropic hypogonadism...don't know your cycle history but given your age I inclined to say probably not in your case...either way, what happens here is that your pituitary releases lh but your testes don't respond by producing testosterone therefore, causing lh levels to rise in the body's attempt to maintain homeostasis

Anything significant about my LH levels?

How much protein have you been eating?

vascular's picture

I've upped my protein intake to about 280-300mg per day leadin up to my cycle. About 3 weeks now. This includes steak, fish and protein shakes. I haven't been drinking either in months. I'm 32 160lbs 14%bf 5ft6".

Bun is the byproduct of protein synthesis. The elevated level is probably due to the increased protein intake. The best way to combat it.is to stay very hydrated. Take your liver and kidney support as well. As far as the lh, I'm sure about it...I have free access to full text med journals so I'll take a look and see if I can find anything
