+ 2 MRI: Rotator Cuff Tear 80-90% Complete
[Posting this as a "Lab Test" is not completely
accurate but seems to be the closest category]
The bitch of it is that the other shoulder hurts worse. Ortho thinks it's torn too; ordered MRI for right shoulder, need surgery on left. I've had shoulder pain for years and years. I just keep working out and changing the exercises when one starts to hurt too much. Sleeping is the hardest part. He says I can do what I want. If I complete the tear, the surgery is no different because they complete the tear to re-attach tendon anyway.
Fucking A, I don't wanna be down for the six months he said that I'll need to stop upper body lifting.
Update Edit: here's doctors pre-MRI diagnosis for the other shoulder. Time for another MRI.
Considering the diagnoses I've got, I'd say I'm kicking ass!
[Bench pressed up to 315 x 8 reps, 2 days
ago at 173 bodyweight, no pain today]
The doctor said that I've strengthened the rotator cuff muscles, and everything around them so much, that it still gives me so much functional strength that it doesn't seem injured until it hurts.
(Last week and the week before, jack hammering and digging all day, spiked the pain a lot. It's better this week)
As I get older, or stop training, or if I get new injuries, I'll lose muscle mass and strength, without which, I'll lose functionality and at that time, I'll need surgery. At this point, it's still elective.

Fuck Yes! I can still train hard now that I've found what doesn't make these rotators cuffs hurt even more!
Yesterday at The Gym:
Traps Shoulders & Lats
• Shrugs:
135 x 20
135 x 20
225 x 20
275 x 20
325 x 20
375 x 20
325 x 20
Total poundage = 35,900
Then I still did:
• Shoulder Presses - 10 sets
• Lat Pulls - 10 sets
Shoulders feel fine today!
Hey Pound, have a look into Prolotherapy.I had never heard of it until recently when my buddy had it done. It's a series of shots. It can heal the tendons. Most insurance companies don't cover it.It puts him in major pain after the shot. His shoulder had closed up significantly after the first shot.
Yeah Scooby, I've thought about that too. It is a therapy that uses the bodies "inflammatory cascade" of chemicals to promote healing. It does so by injecting substances that irritate the tissues, initiating the release of the first of those involved in that cascade, or proliferation, chain-reaction style, of inflammatory mediators (as best I can remember from physiology courses in university). The substances that are injected into the joint capsule range in ability to irritate from simple saline or glucose, all the way to things that are pretty harsh. I think that it might help somewhat, but being that the infraspinatus tendon is 80 - 90% torn, hanging on by a thread, it really needs surgery to complete the tear, then reattach it.
Man buddy.. This totally sucks for you.. I know being at our age, any amount of time down just makes the comeback harder and longer to complete. I have had labrum issues in both my shoulders and a MRI on one of them did say surgery could be needed. The doctor told me about water therapy exercises to do that could assist me better, So I tried them and low and behold, it worked and cured all my pain issues. Never thought that doing some swimming exercises would help but it did. Wish you well buddy and hope all turns out for ya...
Thanks Mob!
The thing is, my left supraspinatus tendon is 80 - 90% torn where it connects to the head of the humerus. So I just can't see anything less than surgery helping. But, until I bite the bullet and get it done, it is the pain that I have every day that needs addressing, so maybe that might help?
Thanks again!
I Had the surgery in March 2014. Most lifts are back to normal now. I just started shoulders again within the last 2 months. It still hurts a bit but before the surgery I wasnt sleeping at all !!!... Sooner or later you gotta do it. Good luck bro !!
Thanks Roman,
These kinds of comments are the best
of eroids cuz they're actually helpful!
I hope your recovery continues and you get to where you want to be, and without pain.
I've had my shoulder repaired - the rehab sucks but it's worth it in the long run!
You too, bd.
Your input is cool!
Sorry to see that brother. I have bursitis in each shoulder and it kills me sometimes, I couldn't imagine a full tear
Oh hell yeah, Kam--bursitis can hurt every bit as much as a tear. Every injury's different; everyone's physio too. Pain is due to inflammation, right? If a tear has little inflammation, it's got little pain. Bursitis is all inflammation. Anything with "itis" as a suffix is a case of inflammation, so it's main, and often only, symptom is PAIN!
(Sorry if this sounded like I'm trying to be a teacher. I'm sure you know everything I said. I just love talking about this kinda stuff, for some reason!)
damn my father in law just had surgey a few months ago from working in the garage putting up i think an axle in the mustang with one hand and he heard a pop, he could not left his left arm above his hip bone, he had the survey done and had a cast i think.. he's good now recover was great but still needs theory.. best of luck bro.
Woody, your poor father in law sounds like a thrashed old man like me. Lol
Thanks for your message. It's helping me to read about people's positive experiences with this stuff!
Tore my rotator, labrum, had those repaired. A screw put in and had a big bone spur removed on right shoulder. Then had to have scar tissue burned off which hurt worse than the initial operation. Now my right is stronger than ever. Over compensating when I returned to the drywall trade with my left arm definitely ruined my left shoulder. Rotator feels BAD. Smack dab in the middle of this test e and deca cycle its getting worse. Cant sleep on that side either. Getting a cortisone shot friday and I pray its just emflamed and the cortisone will help. I feel your pain bro. Use your head and dont train through the pain, im guilty of that and its no bueno.
Wow, you do get it.
When I recently injured my right shoulder to where I literally couldn't raise my right arm for two weeks, ALL the work I had booked for the next month was overhead: recessed lights and drywall!
Cortisone shot helped the one that this MRI concerns--a lot. After 5 months the pain returned. The Ortho gave another and said if pain didn't go away afterward, or returned soon, it's time for MRI because it's probably torn. Well, that shot only gave half the relief of the first one, and the pain returned within a month or so.
Lol hanging ceilings is hard for the first few hours of the day. I have had 1 or 2 shots in the past in my left shoulder and I get about a years relief. Fingers crossed.
Best of luck with that, bro.
According to my Ortho, a year of relief almost rules out a tear and he labels it bursitis, which can be very painful too, but preferred to a tear.
this website can be frustrating
Damn. You best do what they tell you, your shoulders are a wreck!
Yep, will do.
Here's the thing that gets me down--my age and the high level of strength and fitness I've got. None of my friends my age, or even near, are even close. But I've seen it so often that when guys get into their fifties and have something like one, or effing BOTH, shoulders worked on, they can never get back to where they were.
Oh well, all that's true, but if anybody can--AND WILL--put in the work to do it, it's me.
Thanks Rider!
Maybe look into some peps for healing properties or GH for post surgery. Then do exactly as they tell you. I have heard many horror stories as well but I have also seen complete success. Most people don't have as much muscle for the surgeon to work with, one would think that works in our favor.
Well, considering the diagnoses I've got, I'd say I'm kicking ass! The Ortho said the right shoulder MRI shows "Complete rupture of Rotator Cuff."
The doctor said that I've strengthened the rotator cuff muscles, and everything around them so much, that it still gives me so much functional strength that it doesn't seem injured until it hurts.
(Last week and the week before, jack hammering and digging all day, spiked the pain a lot. It's better this week)
As I get older, or stop training, or if I get new injuries; I'll lose muscle mass and strength, without which, I'll lose functionality.
Yep, sounds smart.
Gh helped my come back from a quad tear QUICK!
stack it with some tb 500 and you have a great healing stack. I used it for a broken foot with tore ligands and it really helped
Thanks for the info, KK.
Have you tried BPC157?
I have not but I will now look into it. I don't think I ever heard of it
KK,
[Is this okay to post here? It names a pep source...
If not, someone say so and I'll edit it out]:
This dude "DBG" did a great review of BPC157 from _____. See if this link takes you to the page. Otherwise search his screen name and BPC and you'll see where he breaks down dosage etc., real well. I've heard some good things about it elsewhere too, but some were not as impressed.

Yeah your good to post it. I did some research on it. Def has my eye. Strengthen ligaments Def has my attention. Everyone is different as far as response.
AnonThat fuckin sucks man. I've dislocated both shoulders a couple times now and I still get a lot of pain sometimes. Probably why I don't go to the doctor because I don't wanna see shit like this lol.
Thanks Jello,
I get that. I've put off shit like that a lot in my life.
It's never helped; always hurt.
