+ 3 EBC Progress Shot - Legs
ad
Well I shaved and applied copious amounts of nair to my legs this morning and I'm rather pleased with the results.
If you look at the picture my right quad is noticeably larger than my left =(
Can I get some suggestions on how I can get them to balance out?

So here is my .02 on this. I am dealing with the same thing. My right leg is bigger than my left. The reason for this is because..... Anatomically my right leg is longer. So that means that on squats, leg press, deads or anything of that nature my right leg does the majority of the push. I suggest going to a walk-in chiropractor and have him do an X-ray. Should be around $100-$140 for him to do it. This way you'll see if this maybe a factor in your issue.
As far as what you can do to maybe play catch up is isolation exercises. Iso leg press, lunges. You're going to have to use your imagination on that one.
waltrjust a thought but have you ever considered a shoe insert to make them equal lengths when you do leg exercises?
it might work.
I have the problem of the size/strength distribution across my whole body, i'm right handed so my right side is dominant over my left. every muscle on the right is bigger than on the left =/
Actually yes I have. This is something that I just recently found out when I was going due to my herniated disc. My chiro wants to finish my initial treatment then we will proceed from there as far as finding a wedge to even things out. Until then I went and invested in a pair of the Vibram five-fingers shoes. You know, the ones that have little slots for your toes. I use those on leg day. I close my eyes and try to focus on evening out the pressure by feeling where I'm pressing on my feet. It's a mind/muscle connection thing.
Do you use a lot of compound exercises? Like with a barbell?
waltri do a pretty typical 4 day split
chest/tri's - decline/incline/dumb bell/flyes & skullcrusher/press behind the neck/pulldowns
legs - squats/leg press seated/leg extensions calf/standing calf leg curl/straight leg dead lifts
back/bi's - lat pulldowns/behind the neck pulldowns/ standing row / dumbbell row/ seated row & standing barbell curl/ standing double arm preacher/ seated preacher/ hammer curls (these all get rotated week to week)
shoulders/traps - military press/press behind the neck/shoulder flyes & standing shrug barbell, standing shrug dumbbell, seated shrug machine
I don't know if it's just the picture, but it looks like your right femur is longer than your left.
Damn brother those are some big quads! You know I would you the leg press and put the weight on the right leg, and you can use the left leg as a guide to study the motion. Switch your feet positioning to different angles so you can hit all quadrants. Honestly you have the genetics to have those legs grow and grow. +1
Nice shape and muscle on those legs bud. +1. My suggestions:
But honestly you prob notice it way more than anyone else does. I didn't until you pointed it out.
waltri had to look up what a single leg hack squat would be performed like and just watching the video i'm cramping up =/
thanks for the tip though, i'll work it into my leg routine
Lol. Yeah they look kinda funny but it's def better than trying to do a single leg squat.
Not sure, other than doing a bit more on the right. Could try doing lunges, and do 2 reps for each 1 rep you do on the left. And extra single leg reps on extension machine.
Still looking might strong bro! No doubt about that. +1
Got that the wrong way round on the lunges thing above. Lol.
I have the same problem with my legs. My right leg is bigger than my left leg.
