+ 5 DON'T GET EATEN BY THE FALSESAURUS labs showing biotin interference

Did a write up on how Biotin can interfere with a lab test. Here is the visual proof. You may want to read this first;

Little back ground. I was feeling out of sorts and was having all kinds of symptoms this past summer. So I ran bloods end of June. I have not run any compounds in a couple of yrs any way as you can see on the 1st test in June my labs showed a problem with RBC indices. RBC was out of wack and elevated. It can be caused by a number of things but a deficiency of b-12, folate, or both is usually the culpirt. I started supplementing with a liquid b complex that had 1000 mcg of b-12 and added 400 mcg of folate. After 6 wks of supplements my symptoms were getting worse. Ran an anemia test which came back positive for low b-12 <150pg/ml. although my RBC numbers had improved I was still having major symptoms. Still bruising easily, fatigue, hands and limbs going numb,hair loss, brain fog, memory loss, neuropathy,vision problems. Couldn't see my regular physician quick so i made an appt with his PA. Based on my labs was given a B-12 injection on the spot. Took a total of 8 additional injections 1 per day. Major symptoms improved. Then no b-12 for the next roughly 3 wks. Ran bloods b-12 now back in range with folate elevated. Stopped the folate. I had a follow up with the PA but didn't keep the appt as I had an appt with my regular Dr 2 months later. Started taking Biotin 5mg (5000mcgs)for hair loss that did not improve with the previous supplementation of b12. B-12 injections 2 times over the next 53 days. Ran bloods that my Dr wanted but also ran testosterone test as I still wasn't 100%. As you can see RBC is back to normal but b-12 is now super elevated and out of range. Biotin interference. Testosterone which I hadn't tested in about 2 yrs which at that time it was 375ng/dL is now flagged at 923 ng/dL. No freakin way that is correct. LH and FSH are the highest I've ever had on a blood test.So again interference. Doc sent me to a lab ran a test verdict Pernicious Anemia. Impaired uptake of vitamin B-12 due to the lack of a substance known as intrinsic factor (IF) produced by the stomach lining go figure. Given script for pharma b12. One injection every 30 days.

Thanks Goose. It kind of ruined my summer but feeling a hell of a lot better. Learned something though. The human body can not survive without B-12. Pernicious Anemia.
