Clay-like material at the top of vial?
ad
Does anyone know what's up with this vial of test? There's a clay like material at the top of the vial, and I've never seen anything like this. Does this product normally come like this?
Edit: yeah the rubber vial's melted/pushed in. I'll let the source know.

It’s the stopper. Ask for a replacement. Don’t use it. That’s what seals the bottle from the elements. Don’t mess with it until you get a hold of the source.
AnonAgree. I would not trust that stopper to be an effective barrier from the elements.

AnonLooks like it was real hot at some point.
Closed while vial was still hot
TricepatopsDid you take the top off and see if the stopper is pushed in or melted? From the pic that's what it looks like.
RustyhookerMelted maybe. Ethyl oleate is harsh on some stoppers. But that looks kinda melted. Let source know.
Looks like the rubber stopper has been compromised. I know that sometimes during the process, pressure/heat can have a negative effect on these stoppers. Maybe one of the vets can chime in. I has something similar happen a while back on a vial. Mine didn't look as compromised as yours though. Keep us updated.
