+ 8 Blood Pressure(The silent killer)
Blood pressure got outta control because I was lazy with diet and training. Did a lot of research and decided that an ARB(losartan or telmisartan) would probably be best for me. After digging a little deeper I found that telmisartan had a much longer half life and would offer better all day coverage. I learned a valuable lesson years ago, never approach anyone with a problem without a solution even doctors. So my doctor wanted to put me on an ACE inhibitor and I suggested an ARB and explained why. He said ok I'll start you out on losartan and we'll go from there and I suggested telmisartan and explained why. He gets on his computer for a few minutes and says it sounds like you know more about this than I do and agreed. So after a few visits this is where I'm at and the best part is after insurance it's only $1.78 for a thirty day script.

Some commercials don't even tell you the fucking name of the drug. CALL YOUR DOCTOR TODAY!
Oh I know. They are all soooo deceptive.
At least he didn't google it in front of you.
Lmao the expectations are getting very low
The last time I went to the doctor, my original doctor retired and a new doctor took over. She went through my health history and my families health history. Mom had breast cancer, dad had prostate cancer. She wanted to do blood work. She never did a PSA test. I never went back.
And about 10 years prior to that, I was having high blood sugar issues. I went to the doctor and every symptom I mentioned, he said sounded like depression. After about the 4th time of him saying depression, I told him there was no God damn way I was going to take depression medication. He dropped it.
I went home and googled my symptoms. Every symptom I had, was related to high blood sugar. My blood work came back with an A1C of 5.8. That's prediabetic. The doctor called me a week or so later. My blood work had come in. He admitted he didn't think I was depressed and never said anything about me being prediabetic. That mother fucker would have written me a script for the latest and greatest anti depression pill if I had said I felt depressed. I never went back to him.
Hold the fuck up. What kind of blood sugar issue could you possibly confuse with depression? Besides MAYBE craving foods, what a ding dong. He obviously had some sort of deal to get paid for prescribing a certain depression medication. I’d feel like such a slime ball, recommending the wrong thing KNOWING it’s not going to help them and knowing what will help them and not telling them what they really need to know
Holy fuck, listen to this one. The woman had breast cancer about 7 years ago. She was having nausea from the chemo. She would get a script for nausea pills. She would google the side effects of the pill and decide whether she wanted to take it or not. A couple of the pills she was prescribed were fucking linked to causing breast cancer. She went and got a bag of weed.
I have a huge distrust of the medical and pharmaceutical industry.
And rightfully so
Me too bro. Do you know about the Rockefellers starting the petroleum based medicine industry at the same time they started the AMA and did away with holistic medicine started requiring doctors to be liscensed. BUT they would only liscense doctors that went to there schools and we’re taught to prescribe thier drugs and not heal anyone. That was the start of all the patents on drugs and anything natural cannot be patented so now nothing natural is ever recommended to treat anything. People don’t realize that they make as much money from oil in the pharmaceutical industry as they do in the oil industry. The very roots of our medical industry is corrupt, there’s almost no reason to trust it.
I knew there was a reason I didn't trust them. Now I know the reason.
Crazy shit that’s not proven but there was a two year stretch recently(around 2014. Ish?) I don’t remember the exact years. But anyways like a ton of doctors, like 60 or some crazy number where all killed or “committed suicide” under super sketchy circumstances and all off them didn’t like prescribing chemo and radiation and offered some type of holistic cancer treatment and supposedly had actually had some success treating cancer patients with diet and whatver else natural. Shit was super suspicious to see it all laid out. Like shooting yourselve in the back of the head and overdosing and hanging yourself all at the same time, just like the Clinton suicides, where someone kills themself and then stuffs themselves into a suitcase and shuts it, like how the hell can you really say that’s suicide without feeling like a massive lying piece of shit
anvilGood post, appreciate you.
Just trying to do my part
I’ve been using it for a while now and it definitely helps and is a huge addon for enhanced athletes !
But keep an eye on potassium levels since telmisartan tends to increase serum potassium blood levels in some people.
Yes, I was told unless I'm consuming a large amount of potassium I should be ok
Unfortunately all ARB's (losartan too) & ACE Inhibitors (Ramipril, Lisinopril) do this, that's why continual monitoring is required by Doctors. It mainly tends to happen though when your renal (kidney) function is impaired as opposed to someone who has no problems. Keep things like Bananas, Potatoes, Orange juice consumption down whilst on them. Its because the filters become less effective at urinating potassium out of the blood.
You know what they say, a grapefruit a day will keep the doctor away. But do not eat one on the same day as taking BP meds. Try it
I should be good considering I don't like grapefruit lmao
What was your BP and what is it now on the meds? What’s your stats hight weight bf.
My BP runs high s as Kevin on ramipril 5mg daily I asked for ramipril because it also protects the kidneys . Before I started donating blood my BP was around 150/90 and when I found out I was worried I was also short of breath just talking. Anyway long story short RBC was very high , and I put that down to EQ (Bold) I loved the stuff used it every cycle but I’ll never touch it again. So I’m on a 12 week blood donation cycle ramipril 5mg daily and 1 x 75mg baby aspirin daily
BP now runs around 130/80 to 135/85 I’ve had heart liver kidney function tests and kidney heart scans and heart ultrasound and apparently I’m looking good , there not concerned about my BP being slightly high (pre hypertension) because of my muscle mass but did say I would be better losing weight. I think when you get bigger and hold more mass your BP will increase to a degree
Ok my BP was exactly like yours 150s/90s when he started me on the 40s. A month later it was upper 130s over mid 80s. He upped it to the 80s and yesterday it was mid to low 120s over upper 70s. He was content with that and said I'll see you in 6 months. Height 6'3 weight 255 and not sure on the BF but probably mid to upper 20s.
I know I need to get this bad weight off. Glad to hear you're getting your BP in check and good luck.
Did you happen to see any changes in your potassium level or eGFR mate?
Doc wants me to get bloods before my next visit so I'll let you know then
I'll get back to you later after I get off work
What’s your dosage you take?
80mg
