+ 6 Big D's Test C for HRT

ad

Two months of only running Big D's Test C for my hormone replacement therapy. Up 30 pounds now. Workouts only include swimming and 30 push-ups every day. Hope that my doc will allow me to get back into the gym soon!

Dr. C? If that is you friend request me...I received the test p & e today.

If you are not Dr. C, thank you for commenting!

Thank you! Second opinions are hard to come by where I live, and I am 6 hours from my current endo. The good news..he is aggressive in treatment... the bad..he thinks a strong wind will snap me in two. He is coming around!

I do. After only a year of treatment I could understand holding off...but I feel better now than I ever have. The hardest part will be starting over from the beginning. After competitive lifting in high school and some college...the 20 pound dumbbells depress me. However. ..If I ever want to hear the 45s bang together again I need to start low and slow

Swimming and 30 push ups and you got 30 pounds? Hmmm

Over a long period of time. Prior to my diagnosis and eventual treatment I was nothing more than skeleton and skin.

why would your doc advise against going to the gym?

MaynardMeek's picture

It is a long story, but for reasons that cannot yet be explained, my body stopped naturally producing testosterone about ten years ago resulting in a significant loss of muscle. He was/is concerned that if I start lifting (heavy) my body will not be ready to handle the stress and break (for lack of a better term). After HRT started to show promise, I was restricted to swimming to help rebuild muscle mass, then body weight routines with therabands....it has been nearly two years and I have the yellow light to use free weights. It has been a slow process to say the least.
