glad to hear your leg is getting better yes anxiety makes everything worse reading your answers the way you have handled this situation is a real credit to you
Thanks for the kind words. So i successfully pinned glutes with the help of my wife and very little pip. Guessing the only reason for pip was because it was a virgin muscle. No swelling, no knots, no redness of any kind. Just very minimal pip. So by process of elimination i am guessing this was not an allergic reaction . I am attributing the whole incident to not enough pin points. Just want to reiterate that I believe this started because i pinned in my quad while there was a knot in it from weeks of pinning only quads. Some people dont have and wont have this issue but I did. Hopefully newbies like myself will learn from this experience and take something away from it.
I had a similar incident with my left thigh several years back and it was in the same vicinity as yours. Luckily mine was a hemotoma but you might want to check it out just in case. My guess is a hemotoma but Im no Doc. Only guessing from my experience.
Antibiotics seem to be doing the trick slowly but surely. Pain is gone still some swelling and redness but way smaller than it was before. Definitely not a fun experience. The anxiety wasn't fun either.
Well I'm gonna pin glutes today and try to rule out some of the issues that come to mind. Tossing what's left of that vial and starting a new one to rule out contamination of that vial. If no redness or swelling then ruling out allergic reaction. Expecting pip as my glutes are virgin. I doubt it's bad gear as the source is very reliable. Wish me luck. Thanks for all the advice and comments also.
AFter taking frag in the head in Iraq I had over 100 staph infections for years. You need Keflex of somthing bro better safe than sorry.
wow be very careful man
I have had pip worse than that tho LOLOL
EO is a bitch to me
Thanks for serving and sorry you got wounded in that shit hole over there. I've made it to Iraq and Afghanistan my fair share of times as well. I have only had staph once and it wasn't too bad. Got it from a smallpox injection first time I deployed. Fkn medic was young to military and probably didn't give a fk about hygiene. Several people wound up getting staph in my company to include my company commander. Anyhow, I went into ER last night and was given Clindamycin to treat it . I will be purchasing Keflex to keep on hand just in case for the future.
AssUhlThat does not look like an abcess bro. It looks like your allergic to something or it could be an infection, but more likely an allergic reaction. Ive had those a few times over the years and they get red, hard, swollen and hot to the touch. Should go down after q week or two if its a reaction which i can almost guarantee.
I would like to agree with you but this is the 8th time pinning from this vial without a reaction like this. I am still hopeful that its nothing more than a bad reaction after pinning in my quad where I knew I had a knot but then there's the paranoid side of me. I will take some benadryl also just in case. While the idea of a wooden leg does amuse me I will have to pass lol. Sorry bad joke but I couldn't resist.
Me too lasted a few days then was gone but painful
Go to the doctor bro. Better safe than sorry. If you like pinning quads check out my pics I have one that shows where I pin my quads and have never had a problem.
Already went to doc. Quads to me are awesome as I rarely ever get pip. 2 out of 8 pins wasnt bad I thought. I will check out your pics but going to give quads a rest till leg heals up. But I will definitely go back to them. Thanks for the help brother.
I was thinking this was inside of the leg too at first! Haha Im in the medical field and doesn't look like abcsess to me. Just some kind of reaction at this point. If you spike a fever I would go to urgent care right away. Also it will get hot to the touch with an active infection. Hope this helps
It was hot to the touch but not anymore. I got staph infection once from a smallpox vaccine before I deployed so I know what it looks like. Initially I didnt think it was really an infection either but I took 200mg doxycycline just in case but it kept growing so I went in. Better safe than sorry.
My quads have done this twice and it was nothing major.
Wouldn't an abscess take longer to set in.
Thats what I asked the doctor cuz i thought an abscess would take longer as well but they assured me it was an abscess forming. They say it looks like it was caught early enough that it might not get to the point where it needs to be drained < crossing fingers> but if it comes to a head to go back into ER to drain the sucker.
What compounds? Virgin muscle? Looks like the outside portion of quad the way your knee sits. Hard to walk / bend it? Just because it's hard doesn't automatically make it an abscess.
Test e 250. Nah not a virgin muscle. It is the outside. Initially it was hard to walk/sit/bend etc. I know just because it was hard doesnt mean it is an abscess but I also know what major pip and just a knot in my muscle feel like as I have experienced both. Gonna play it safe and take the doctors word for it.
Also what did you inject that caused this and have you pinned quads before(virgin muscle).
Test e 250mg x 2/week.Nope not virgin muscle at all. I think the problem was i was only pinned quads. I should have used more pin points.
Best advice start pinning glutes
gonna have to in the mean time. Quads are just so easy. Dont even feel the needle going in. Glutes for now but will eventually do delts, quads, and glutes.
Is that the inside or outside of leg lol sorry just looks like inside
Went back and looked at the picture and you're right it does look like the inside of my right leg. Its outside of left tho.
Its outside. The infection traveled further out from injection point so it was an awkward angle.
Pretty sure i posted in courtesy of incorrectly. Sorry.
