+ 1 important info on posting pics especially cellphone pics

ad

For those who don't already know this, a lot of new cellphones save info with the picture, like time, location and so on. Just keep that in mind before posting pics directly from your cell . Disable the feature, edit the pic info on your pc and save without that info. Save some of the images posted on here, right click and go to "properties" and you will see what I mean. Some camerals do it too via gps, correct me I I'm wrong but I think they call it "landmarking" or whatever.
Let's say john doe posts pictures of his rather large collection and LE really wants to bust balls, you just made a public statement along with pictures and exact gps coordinates. Because you know you made it public It can give them cause if they really want it. If you threaten someone over the phone,he\she records it without you knowing(illegal). If you left a message sayin the same thing he\she can use it against you because you know it was recorded. Most of you might know this, maybe not but just keep that in mind. Edit, remove info, then post.

Its called "geotagging". And yea mostcell phones have that as their default setting so u gotta open ur camera, go to settings and turn off the "location" option.

There is a free app called pixelgarde that can remove all that data for you.

Its ironic because I was with a lady friend of mine and there were pictures taken. Anyway I was looking at the ic and hit the menu button by accident and saw that feature.....it put me at her house when I wasn't spouse to be there. Its good info to know though now adays you don't know what's up with new technology.

Technology can be your worst enemy if you don't control it, not to sound overdramatically paranoid, no I don't have tin foil in all my windows to keep the aliens and the "eye in the sky" from seeing me. Just happened to notice something and I figured I would try and inform/help those who may not know this, hope its helpfull
