+ 3 Ameen Alai charged with distribution of controlled substance resulting in death.
Original post from:
Ameen Alai...infamous bodybuilding prep coach/guru, in a very unfortunate situation. Actually met this dude at Arnold Classic Sports Expo and he was very transparent/outspoken. He was honest on all accounts and is known to provide the athletes he coaches/preps with compounds necessary to compete. He has very informative videos he put out and is truly knowledgeable regarding compounds and bodybuilding prep. Ironic Hope he comes out of this without missing too much of his life and time with loved ones. Out of all the substances....a psychoactive compound used to treat addiction did him in...ironic. He has had run in with the feds for AAS and has openly spoken on it in one of his videos, so interesting to see how this will turn out.
Damn I used to always watch him with Tony Huge
Do not wish this on no body though, wish him well and thanks for posting
I was never a fan of Huge, but Ameen was extremely knowledgeable and actually walked the walk IMO. Ameen was sliced and diced year round, looked good and guided major IFBB pros at Olympia level. Impressive AF. Nothing against Huge though, but I wouldn't want to deal with law in anyway nor would I wish that onto others as well.
Yeah I always looked at Tony as more of an entertainer / act , I never really took him seriously, his philosophy of the mass blast is dangerous though and probably polar opposite of the "low and slow" approach I have mostly adopted, I digress
Ameen knows his stuff, one of the most knowledgeable I have ever heard about GH, he got in exceptional condition himself too when he competed being his own coach, I always admire that, wish him well, thanks for sharing
Dang man, i know this guy personally, really nice dude who's always down to help out, tough break
It would be a manslaughter charge in the UK and would probably get about 5 year and released halfway with parole or if refused parole serve 3yr 4month.
Crazy harsh punishment in the US, it's like they really wanna fuck you over, not forgetting the types of inmates you will be living with.
Crazy Harsh indeed Robb. What's crazier is Ibogainr is legal and over the counter in most European countries too. Very curious to actually find out who the "victim" is that died under his guidance as well. I hope the least he gets is involuntary manslaughter or less. If they make an example of him....can you imagine the pressure that this will put on other major gurus like Handy Rambod/Chad Nichols etc? There has to be some discretion in the contract between coach/athlete that should be put in place after all this, to where the coach is not responsible for the worst possible outcome, after all it's not exactly like they hold a gun to our head and force us to take said compounds. Very unfortunate circumstance for coach and athletes family members though nevertheless.
The victim was a bodybuilder by the name of Andy Haman. Not actually named but his initials AH are in the indictment and the time line and location match exactly. A very family oriented man, seems like a really good guy from what I've seen on YouTube.
Ameen would charge $20k for this treatment apparently.
If I was Ameen I'd fight this case like I was fighting for my life, which he basically is, hoping that a possible deal maybe done for a guilty plea.
Figured it was...I suspected this earlier and typed it out some messages down below. Andy died on the same date being investigated and same state lol. Crazy as hell man
I scrolled down after I wrote the above, i noticed you had named him.
Condolences to his family, if Ameen had been paid upfront I hope he gave it back.
Well even if he didn't give it back personally to Andy's family, it's safe to say he will end up losing plenty of $ with lawyer/court fees and just fighting the case in general.
Schedule 1 and death, He is going to serve the max.
Plus he has had previous run-ins with the feds, had his door kicked in, house raided at one point by fbi in the 90's. That won't help as we know govt loves to bring up previous incidents, even if the accused has already done time/paid for rhe mishap.
His previous character will defintely not help him out. Even around my neck of the woods where we have a lot of hillbillys, sch 1 is taken seriously and if a death is involved the big hammer really comes down. Stick a fork in him, he is done.
It's a sch 1 substance which imo is an absolute 'don't fuck with' drug.
It's shit because I know his heart was in the right place but the law doesn't give a shit about hearts.
They 'may' take in to account he was trying to help and reduce the charge but he's known enough to send a message to others by being crushed by the US hammer
What's crazy is this "ibogaine" is legal and readily available over the counter in most European countries. Much like how Kratom is available here in the U.S.
I feel bad for both Ameen and the man who past. It definitely wasn't intentional or meant to happen. Hopefully he can reduced to some kind of manslaughter charge. Ameen was ok, I liked the guy he knew his shit. He helped pro's back in the day early 90's before they were pro's to become pro's. His brother Adin Alai was a decent bodybuilder in the ametuer. Not big but shredded and a creative poser
Andy Haman died on that same date being investigated accoring to the CBS Article...plus he passed away in Colorado also, same date of passing, same state...might be a coincidence, but hopefully more info comes out and we see who the 'victim" is.
The US really don't fuck about when it comes to punishing people for drug use and distribution do they, very tough compared to over here. In fact I would be scared to have gear in my house over there but I think all states tend to differ don't they on how they view it.
They damn sure dont Press ...it's big money involved...so big they have the alphabet boys (FBI, DEA etc) along with the people pulling strings and calling the shots in the govt in their pockets. They don't like when their pockets are messed with and bite back hard. I truly wish Ameen luck ...he will absolutely need it. Eager to find out who this alleged "victim" truly is, due to the fact that Andy Haman, ex pro bodybuilder/powerlifter also died on that exact date published by CBS in that article. He died on the same date in the same state.
Ameen worked with a lot of the OG pros in the 90s like Craig Titus, King Kamali etc and helped many pros with contest prep, but never heard if Andy Haman was under his guidance. Haman also supposedly passed away during heart surgery, clots if I remember correctly. Curious to see how this all plays out cause they supposedly had Ameen under investigation for some time and who knows who else they are watching and about to hand out papers to just by being affiliated with the accused. Crazy shit cause this happens and meanwhile fentanyl is killing users daily and feds waste their time, resources and tax dollars on fitness competitors/bodybuilding coaches.
No, laws don’t vary by state when it comes to scheduled drugs…it’s a federal thing. New laws in the US are starting to charge drug dealers/suppliers with murder/homicide.
It's more about money than about drugs. The war on drugs is the biggest crock of shit. Many of our prisons are privately owned. Many of the owners push for strict drug laws. The police do as well. Because there is money in drugs. Basically prisoners are subsidized and prisons get funding. They don't get funding for individuals who commit sex crimes. That's why many pedos get to have such short term sentences. Drugs is what makes money. Then they turn around and peddle the drugs back out on the street. They also take the money and assets from drug dealers. Often at times under report what they find because they pocket a portion of it. Everyone knows it's a corrupt system. And the government hasn't even put a dent in drug trafficking. Why? Because they're the ones doing it.
Ohh yeah that’s why you don’t see the feds get involved in aas to often. But when you see distributors located in the states start dabbling in pharmaceuticals and pain killers is when they start catching attention.
Can’t be messing with big Pharmas cash flow that’s a no no.
If big pharma and the government don't gettheir cut, that's when the feds come in. Basically how the FBI was started. They government wasn't getting their cut from organized crime.
Very well said.
That's unfortunate because he was probably trying to help a rich person overcome addiction by providing them with ibogaine because that's pretty much what's it's used for. And it's not like guru Ameen put a gun to the guys head and said do this ibogaine. That person asked for that ibogaine.
Ibogaine isn’t used recreationally, in the sense that drugs like heroin, alcohol, coke & meth are. It is used to satiate the receptors that crave your drug of choice to help you kick hard drugs. It is a loosely classified as a hallucinogen, so it’s not physically addicting. It is used to save lives, it is sad this is happening to him.
I watched on a youtube channel he ameen was getting up to $20,000 to help with this ibogaine stuff
Yeah those like 2 day trips out to Mexico and Brazil and wherever else they do the ibogaine and iowaska treatments all cost like 15-30k for that treatment. Its a rich person thing to help cure drug addiction.
Right. It's very unfortunate that an individual died, but again this is just another example of the govt going after a small fish all the while fentanyl is so readily available and is killing users on the daily basis.
Yeah man our current government isn’t for the people right or left.
Just like them allowing the ATF to make a RULE regarding Stabilizing braces this is just the start for law abiding citizens when it comes to government overreach.
How odd. I’m interested in how & why he was using ibogaine. It has a few uses, but primarily it is used to relieve people of physical addiction from substances with high relapse rates (opioids, meth, etc.). In fact, I don’t know of really any ODs from Ibogaine previous to this. I’ll have to take a look at this.
Ameen himself has had recreational drug issues in the past (pain pills/nubaine IV) and praises ibogaine for helping him.
