What's With All the Anti-Cardio "Articles" / Talk Going Around?
ad
I have always used cardio as a staple when cutting and it's always worked well. I'll do it almost every morning fasted for fat loss. Lately I keep reading articles saying cardio is useless and that it will even make you fatter. Lot's of younger kids read this and repeat it, saying the only way to lose fat is with diet...ie caloric deficit, and that cardio just burns muscle. I've also been reading that "grazing", or eating 5-6 mens a day is also ineffective, despite the fact that it has also worked well for me for years when cutting. What's with people trying to "debunk" fundamental bodybuilding principles that practically every bodybuilder lives by?

Nothing wrong with cardio. Depends on how you do it though, you need to modify it to your desired results. I've known people cut with steady-state, mid-range cardio, and it can be done, but my experience has been that it's not optimal.
For example, steady-state, mid-range cardio will burn fat, but is also the most likely to burn muscle tissue. It's okay for improvements to endurance performance, but not necessarily the best choice for cutting fat without cutting muscle too.
Meanwhile walking, whilst excellent for burning fat without burning muscle, does so at a mind-numbingly slow rate, and will burn muscle if done on an empty stomach (although most things will).
High intensity intervals, on the other hand, boost natural levels of GH (not significantly, but every little helps, doesn't it?), improve cardiorespiratory fitness and keep you burning fat after your training session whilst having no serious impact on muscle.
Sure, everyone's right when they say you need to be focused on your diet, but it's only part of the picture. You're not going to out-train poor nutrition.
Media is always looking for the newest fad! It's easier to sell something new. It is to get caught up in the bs the media is selling. When I was a kid creatine was new. I can remember my friends and I all lining up to buy creatine and thinking this is the magic pill. Take this and lift and all get HUGE! Lol
Of course as i matured in the sport I learned fundamentals. No need to reinvent the wheel.
GnarkillI'm 29 and even my stupid friends tell me creatine is a steroid... they think it's the same as say tren. Imagine 17 or 18 year olds all just like yeah let's all take 1500mg a week tren and have to do nothing but buy food with our food stamps
Man my metabolism is so fast that I lose weight just looking at the treadmill but it's necessary to keep the good blood flowing throughout the body and beneficial for the heart of course
GnarkillSounds like kids posting about shit they don't know cause there lazy as fuck I'm sure soon enough we will hear to never do legs and only deadlift half your body weight but that's why we read forums from here it cuts out all the bullshit
I dont think I could deadlift half my body weight. Id end up snatching the barbell instead lol too much force
Even bodyweight is too light.
