taking advice from a guy with great genetics, bad idea? lol

ad

i worked out with my brothers friend who is 26-27 and man does this guy have great genetics. probably the best i've ever seen. hes about 6'2 with an ecto-meso body type. he's lifted on and off since around age 21 and he blows up in 3 months, and by blow up i mean 17-18 inch arms shredded around 8% bodyfat without even trying. i've known him my entire life and i know the family, and i know hes a natural genetic freak.

we worked out today with no routine for back/bis. he told me he simply works out until he feels tired. he was doing lat pulldown for a set or two, then went to cable rows, back to lat pulls, did some biceps, etc... completely random back/bis for an hour and a half with pretty much no rest in between anything. he doesnt count reps and he doesnt count sets. what do u guys think?

This is exactly why I never have a workout partner, my routine switches with the reflection of the mirror and it just wouldnt be fair for someone else cause I start out thinking 4 sets and do 6, or ill say damn traps feel tired today so im just gonna do some shrugs, after a few of those its upright rows, heavy dead lifts, some dumbbell shrugs. I dont train with anyone I hold hostages, basically I just go in the gym and if your on my weight pile im working in with you and if I need a spot your the guy! then ill move over to the next victim! Its been a very long time since I followed someone elses routine, maybe ill try one exercise here and there but basically I do my own research and know what I like and when I like it.

Sounds like he has what works for him figured out, we r all different and the greatest challenge is learning our own bodies.

We all know someone like that - at least I do. Lives off pizza hut and junk food too, go figure.

Thats sounds pretty close to what I do for back/bicep days which is usually tuesdays for me except I try to stick to 3-4 sets. I always try to change up my hand positions, weight im lifting, and reps just to keep my muscles guessing. As long as you do that and feel a stong pump in those targeted muscles only, then your doin the job in the gym but thats only half the battle, the rest of your results come from the kitchen.
