When I workout I stick with one muscle group such as my chest and do 20 sets..the. jump to tricepts and do 10-12 sets. I Ben seeing lot of guys in gym doing like 2-3 sets of bench press then doing 2-3 sets of triceps and back to different chest exercise. So my question is it ok to jump around like that or should I just continue to pound the muscle group I'm working then go to next one

Thanx guys...sum those guys who jump around r lot bigger then me thought it was some new thing. Maybe I will try it for while. Thanx for the input everybody.
The answer is, that it depends. It depends on your goals and then again depends on your micro-goals within that bigger picture.
You should never do anything 100% of the time though, that's a universal truth
If your goal is hypertrophy, you definitely need to change your approach and periodise
It is ok to switch as you have described, at times such as those when aiming for muscle damage. However, at other times, such as lactic acid training, or cell swelling training (again with a hypertrophy focus) it is not ok to switch around like that.
X2
I like to bounce around for a couple months, then switch to one at a time for a couple months. I even like spending a couple months doing 6 sets bench then 6 sets biceps then incline bench then a different bi.... then add triceps in on back day.
No matter what your hitting the muscle it's just preference switch it up every week or two and see what works for you honestly you may like it you may not. It's good to always keep things changing so your body doesn't get used to the same thing
I think he meant switching muscles instead of sticking to chest for say 30 minutes then tri's for the next 30 minutes. What I do is pound the shit out of my certain muscle get it as pumped as possible and once it's to wore out I switch the the next muscle and workout till the pump is to much
Yeah I know I was basically saying that it's just preference honestly
