Lacking motivation
Ok here's the situation. Back in April I got h1n1 flu then as a result got strepacaucial phenmonia in both lungs. I was put on a ventilator. Then while I was still under sedation my lungs began to bleed. I coded three times during the three weeks I was asleep. Finally the docs got me better but I lost around 50 lbs during this time and had to learn to walk again. My legs looked like chicken legs. Well now it's September and I'm finally all better but weight is still low. I can't seem to find the motivation to get back in the gym. I'll get all pumped up but when it's time to workout it's just all gone. I have no plans of cycling for a bit but I long to get back to what I love but when it's time to make the move I just can't for some reason. My dr told me if I wasn't in the shape I was in before this happened I would have died without a doubt. I just wander if any of you could help me get back to the life I enjoy. Thanks for any help.

TronOK... first visualize where you want to be. Decide if you want to give up or get to that visualization point. Look in the mirror and honestly decide if that's what you want to look like. If so then be it.. if not .. do something about it otherwise nothing will change. Keep in mind you were a beast once ... you have a distinct advantage over a noob to the gym.. MUSCLE MEMORY. It comes back fast. get a plan together. without a plan you are going to war without a stategy. set the goal.. go to the gym as if you were going to war.. the pain and suffering will be great and you will have to go through hell.. but in the end.. you will be the best version of yourself you have ever been. you will look in the mirror and say "not only did i cheat death... i came out a better man in the end". decide what you want and take it.
Just want to say thanks to those who replied. But you all are right it's time to nut up or shut up. I beat death so yeah I got this I'm not giving up on the lifestyle I enjoy so much. If it wasn't for body building I know I would have died so I have to get up dust my self off and go on.
jiimytattoo75Hey bro was in same boat man i had hernia surgery then two months after i got lyme and like u all hyped up before gym time then nothing yes its put up or shut up and of course my music that helps me through but old pics of myself motived me too bro good luck brother
Wow bro ur lucky to be alive...but why would you beat something that dangerous that almost took ur life to just sit around afterwards and not enjoy the life you did have...get ur ass back to the gym and get bit done bro..u had enough strength to beat death so I know u have enough strength to overcome a simple lack of motivation..a body in motion stays in motion.
Iron_MonkHonestly bro it happens to the best of us
This is your sink or swim moment
This power we weild comes from within
No ones gonna motivate you other than yourself
If a near death experience isn't motivation enough then you got bigger problems
Decide who you wanna be and block out the rest.
No one likes living in the shadow of their former self
But youre not dead yet. So nut up or shut up as they say
You have an entire community of BBs with priceless knowledge. Your tools are there so use them. No pig flu gonna get you down so dont let your mind beat you up too
Good luck brother
You will get back to where you were. Sounds like the strep was beta-hemolytic. U are lucky u r alive because all beta strep wants to do is live and it will kill the host.to survive.
Were u off cycle when you got H1N1? When are you going back for a follow up visit to the MD? Are u working? And, how is your diet macros, currently?
Yeah I was off cycle at the time I became I'll. If I remember correct I was about 4 weeks post pct. right now my diet had been pretty much eat everything to try to get strength and weight up some. I do work I went back to work first of last month. I had been going for check ups every two weeks and now dr has me coming just once a month. I actually hit the gym just a little bit ago. Not a great workout but man it felt great. It's great to have a place such as this to talk to brothers in iron.
Stay hydrated and get some boost and protein powder. If you get some blood work, post it up so we can see it.
Sounds like you are eating well. Just eat every two to three hours.....you will get there...
