What kind of oats in protien shake
ad
I'm ignorant I guess, but I've seen oats or oatmeal used in protein shakes. I'm curious are most people using raw, long cook, or instant or 1 minute oats or steel cut oats for shakes. Forgive this one...or are you guys cooking them first? I just sounded good to add some carbs at times to the shake, but which kind. Maybe I'm over thinking it and should just toss a 1/2 a cup of raw regular oats in and give it a try.

i normally use the quick quaker oats. Ishould use the old fashioned oats
do you cook your oats before mixing them with your shake? i just take a cup of the quick quaker oats and stir it with my whey and water. kinda have to chew my shake.
I did the raw steel cut, with chic whey & PB, I think I'll cook some next time
OE2000I use old fashioned Quaker Oats. Cook according to package directions, let em cool in the fridge and add to the blender with whey, banana, PB, milk.... whatever will fit basically
Thanks guys I'll give it atry this afternoon. I have all types of oats, I'll give the steel cut a shot first.
56tooI throw some of those 1 min. oats, raw right into the blemder with my protein drink and maybe some strawberries and banana. I like the flavor and texture the oats give it
i use plain rolled oats
X2
I personally eat 2-3 cups of instant oats with a scoop of ON procomplex mixed in for flavor+the 30g protein..beats the plain oats
I like steel cut oats, i just toss them in my protein shake, or mix them with cottage cheese good little snack.
