Looking to learn more about short cycles
I'm really interested in hearing from the more experienced members about short cycles, and the proper PCT usage afterwards. I've read many of the old posts via the search button and there's a little info out there, but want more first hand knowledge if it's available. Here's what I'm looking at....
Test Prop/Var 6 week cycle
week 1-6 Test P @ 150mg EOD
week 1-6 Var @ 50mg ED
PCT Nolva 100/50/50 Clomid 40/20/20 starting 3 days after last Prop pin
I'm looking for critiques to this to help expand my knowledge of how short cycles work and how PCT changes or doesn't change with short vs long cycles.
Thank you in advance.
Bulky
Edit: AI on hand if needed.
Goal for this type of cycle would be slow sustainable gains over the years. Less blow up then shrink down.
Priors on profile as well as current stats.

I personally like short cycle and fast acting esters. Short cycles...train and diet extremely hard. Rest...recover faster. Then repeat after appropriate time off. I won't do anything over 8 weeks anymore. Don't want to either ! It really takes a beating on me if I do and I'm glad I realized that at the age of 30 and by doing blood work. U can FEEL fine but you're blood work can be jacked !! That's just what I like and works for me though. Everybody is different. Good luck w your cycle !
56tooAt my age (over 50) IMO the best way to go is short esters. Thats all I will do now. I just finished a 20 week cycle and truthfully it took its toll. I know from my bloods. An older person places themselves at higher risk when doing gear just because you're subjecting your body to "abuse" for lack of a better word, for longer periods when on longer runs. With shorties you're in and out and everything's good. One of my favorite cycles was an 8 week TP, NPP and Mast p cycle
I couldn't agree anymore w you. Great advise 56 and +1 !
"in and out" that's the idea i like about them as well
I also believe as you age, your arteries become more coagulated with cholesterol that the influx of red blood cell from the use of AAS is the precursor to a heart attack or stroke. I don't think it's as beneficial as we age, but there is still some benefits to be sought.
56tooThats exactly what I was referring to . Being gear affects your lipids lowering your hdl and raising the LDL placing you at greater risk of stroke or heart attack its better to just do shorties thereby reducing the time your body is at risk. I always do bloods before and after a cycle. Always after the cycle my hdl is low and ldl is high. Two months later I do bloods again and everything is back to normal
i found this to be a decent read...hard to find much info on short cycles
short cycles/good gains - less sides
some of it i dont agree with tho...also t-nation has some more shic info
good read that explains things pretty well.
Good read, thanks
we dont want shic advcice bro.
then you dont have to read it...OP was asking about short cycles...
yes and theres a big difference, its my bad for mentioning below. he doesnt need a cycle yet needs bloods. its not an accepted topic on here, my bad. also if you havnt run something shouldnt be advising others. at 26 i doubt you have experience with it.
was i advising? no. it's about researching...more info about a topic isnt a bad thing to know...
shics are totally unrelated mate.
some information in the wrong hands can be a very bad thing....
...this is why i usually dont even bothering posting things...everyone is always trying to babysit information for the stupid kids
relax brother all is good, whoo sah lol, just putting it out there bro, not having a go.
it's about safety bro, nobody is out to get you... we do things the right way here.
Don't laught at me dude, but what is shic advice?
short high intensity cycle
ohh yeah... I just read that lol I thought he misspelled "shit" thanks for clearing that up dude
sorry replied to wrong guy.
no problem bro.
I was reading that back in the day, in the 70's the guys were running 6 week cycles, 6 on and 6 off, and they weren't really benefiting from it, because the AAS weren't kicking until week 4 and by then they were about to come off it.
That's why u run short esters.
Yeah I know that, but they didn't... It was the 70's dude. LOL
you need to go get blood tests before runnin any further cycles, with your bunk cycle history who knows what underlying issues you may have, 6 weeks of prop is fine, but if you are shut down or have low test from your previous bunk cycles and pcts you will be wasting the potential the short cycle gains that could be by bringing your levels out of the hole first
Bloods before any further cycles is on the list of "to do". Thank you for your input on the thread.
Thank you to all the guys who have taken the time to answer/advise. There's a LOT of information to process already.
Two long ester cycles at only 8wks? I run my long ester (test e/cyp) atleast 12wks. My kickers are usually 4wk. Why not run that cycle 8wks.
1-8 Test P @150 eod
and var for the last 6wks @50mg EOD
I personally wont run any oral over 6wks but thats just me.I kinda need my liver lol. I get great results when running var the last 6wks of a cycle. Rusty and Makwa will prob have a better plan for ya, buts that what I would run for a short cycle with those two.
Thank you for your input. I value the experience of you guys a lot.
from his profile
Nolva only PCT?
Brother I went through the same thing.. I couldn't lock in any gains and didn't understand why until I learn about this web-site and clomid.
was still learning and it was before I joined here and really started reading.
I understand. You will find all kinds of knowledgeable guys here. Run aro in that pct too
RustyhookerStats? Priors? Goals?
Edited and updated. Sorry about that. Realized it after I walked in the other room for a minute.
Damn you always beat me to it.
RustyhookerTeach him brother! It's all you!
Im still learning brother. I can only tell him what I have learned from you and my experience.
FR sent. Also wanted to say this is NOT something I'm planning on jumping into soon. Just looking for more information on this type of cycle.
RustyhookerShort cycles are easier when closer to your goal weight/size. Not to say that 100% dedication can't get you there. If you eat perfectly and kick the gyms butt then decent goals will happen. There's a lot more fun in being closer to the goal so there's no frustration of hitting the goal. It's dimply eat and grow.
If you're a lil further off from your goal then simple long Esters with kicker and finisher is easier imo. Instead of 8Weeks of rush rush, you have 14 til pct starts. Can really focus and not race the calender.
Short cycles are better for moderately seasoned guys. You'll need 8 points of pinning or more if possible to allow oil absorption and psin relief. Some short Esters have pip in varying degrees. Some pip feels like lactic acid. No problem! Others are wobbles and cussing. Biggest issue to me is keeping every pin point clean and sterile. No laxy short cuts. There's many forums on pip reduction. But sterility is a serious concern.
Some guys with pin experience enjoy short runs. Grow, recover and repeat when blood test clears. Listening to body and knowing estro levels will make/break short estered runs. And knowing that comes from running a few successful cycles. Estro can hit faster. Sides faster. Gains faster too but gaining without injury takes a toll.
Ultimately its 100% food. Test to bulk. Test to cut. Big dirty foods or super clean foods make your goals reality.
How short is too short with short esters? Seems like 6 weeks like the op was suggesting would be too short of a time to really maximize the cycle but it would be long enough to shut you down.
Exactly...if he works hard and eats super clean he can reach his goal. But I would suggest a long ester cycle with a kicker
1-12 Test e @500mg a week
1-4 Test P 100mg eod
6-12 Var @50mg ed
RustyhookerIm hoping Roid Noid pops in here. He liked down at 4 Weeks as mini blast. But getting it from him would be clearer. Straight talk. He mentioned his stats the other night. Full beast!!
I've run shorts at 6 up to 12Weeks. Lot easier with long Esters beyond 8 unless you're doing switches.
There's a pool of guys over here that run that diet if protocol, BIG 4 week blasts, Noid and I talked about it probably 18 months ago. I'm talking hefty doses of shorts, in, out, recover, repeat. I've only done it the once, didn't see a huge benefit as it was all over as things got interesting. For us older guys I see value in very short cycles mind you.
RustyhookerIf i was closer to goal body, surely would! When I'm there I'll be picking your brains.
I think the other thing that occurs is side effects almost for the sake of it with the type of doses involved. About 2005 there was some decent science behind diminishing effects after 6 weeks which is where a lot if it stemmed from.
Closer to goal? Not sure I know what mine is now. I've hit what I thought was my goal and I'm still not content. Not sure I ever will be.
there called shics.. short high intesity cycles, they work great but only for the experienced. 6 weeks is plenty for any short cycle for instance test prop npp 6 weeks is perfect eod or ed pinning. great gains.
