First taste cycle questions?

ad

I moved part of this post over here from my intro. Little info on me first. I am 48 years old 5'6" 158 lbs. Have been in and out of the gym al my life. Grew up in the 80's on the Arnold encycyclopedia ,So some of my knowledge and theories on working out are out dated. 5 years ago I quit drinking, 3 years ago I quit smoking, 15 months ago I decided I wanted to get back in the gym and build muscle after about a 10 year absence. When I first went back to gym I weighed 143 pounds. After 15 months of hitting the weights hard 4 days a week and cardio on and off twice a week. Also completely changed my diet. I have not step foot in a fast food restraint in over a year, no processed foods, nothing out of a can, all fresh, whole foods, I now weigh 158 I am currently around 14% BF. I have gained about 15 lbs most of which is muscle. I was probably only around 10% BF when I started cause I was doing nothing but cardio before I started lifting and had lost some weight.
After about a month and half research I have decided this is the site I would like to start communicating with others about AAS on. I have also learned that it is almost always suggested to do some form of Test. for your first single compound cycle. However I am leaning towards my first cycle being just be anavar, and a good PCT for after. I am not looking to get really big. I would just like to add about 15 more lbs of LM over the next year. and sort of maintain at that size from there. I am starting with a very mild cycle first to see how my body will react and see if it's something I want to continue. JUst want to stick my toes in the shallow end and see if I like the water if you know what I mean? I have a few concerns and that's why I want to start communicating on forums and get some feedback. Here's an example of the first cycle I am considering:
Mild first cycle:Anavar
1week: 30mg@ED
2week: 40mg@ED
3week: 50mg@ED
4week: 50mg@ED
5week: 50mg@ED
6week: 50mg@ED
7week: 40mg@ED
8week: 30mg@ED
Clomid 50mg@ED for 3 weeks

One question I have is what is the correct waiting period between my last dose of anavar and first dose of clomid?

Also should I take something OCT to keep my levels from dropping to low to help with recovery after?
Or is this over all cycle mild enough that its not necessary? And is liver protection necessary? (n2guard)

I see this post has gotten long for an introduction sorry about that but I have lots of questions still. Guess I will see what kind of response I get from this one and then ask away. Thanks in advanced for any advice, your input and knowledge is appreciated!

Yea my ears are wide open anytime Viking is typing...lol I just read a great write up by Irongame How to succefully PCT and keep your gains.Great information on PCT. not much point doing a cycle if you can't keep at least some of the gains, and as he stated proper PCT is a must to achieve that goal. You right I am learning a whole lot every night I read on this site. I don't even bother reading on other sites anymore, because here there's not as much arguing over differing opinions, seems there's one train of thought and every pushes that idea and its based on safety. I like that, makes me feel like I am taking advice from people who actually care about my results. Good to hear about a little cardio not hurting anything. I am an ex distance runner and while I don't run distance anymore (burned out on it) I still enjoy getting in the gym and doing some jump rope, heavy bag, speed bag and then hit the stomach hard. 3 rounds each of that twice a week. really keeps my core solid. its only about 45 minutes of moderate cardio. anyway back to reading thx for the comment

Some good info, thanks to all who replied, you have convinced me my first cycle will be Test E. for 12 weeks. Will not be doing it until after the new year for several different reasons. One is I want to get down to about 10% BF I am currently around 14% maybe slightly higher. I can get it to 10% no problem, losing weight has never been an issue for me I have always had trouble gaining weight. Even at 48yrs old. I have to eat at least 3500 cal/d just to gain a pound a week. I live a very active daily life on top of my 6 day a week working out. ( 4 days weights and 2 days cardio) I lay off cardio when trying to bulk. That's a question I have, should I do cardio while doing my first cycle? This will also give me more time for more research. I have been researching steroids, cycles,PCT,OCT,Diet, and everything else for hours each day for a few months now and this will give me a few more. I want to look into the idea of waiting until I get sides before taking an Ai. your reasoning is sound, I don't really like the idea of taking chemicals if I don't need to either. anyway thanks a lot for all the input I will have a whole bunch more questions before I start my cycle hope ya'll don't mind. I am a very detailed oriented type person and like to have all bases covered before jumping into anything. ecspecially something like this.

Good decision, one you won't regret. There was some good info dropped. Any time you see Viking dropping info make sure it sinks in. I don't think a little moderate cardio will hurt. It will help with water retention and BP. All the info you need and more can be found on this site.

Take my word for it, an oral only cycle has several major drawbacks. First, you'll lost most if not all the gains in a fairly quick timeframe, like 6-8 weeks. That includes strength and size. Secondly, your natty test levels will be suppressed from the anavar. Third, and maybe the most worst IMO, is the psychological effect of seeing any gains from the cycle waste away compounded by low test post-cycle. It's depressing. I'd listen to the advice given below. It's not worth it.

NOooooooooooooooooo........................ please dont do this ;/

NoPnNoGn's picture

Okay...I am not doing it, just putting my thoughts on paper really while I continue to do research. most of what I am reading is that your first cycle should always be 1 compound and that compound should be Test.
I have gotten varied opinions on this issue. Some folks say anavar only cycle is ok just be ready for only slight gains. and still use PCT (clomid) Its obvious your opinion is not in line with that. Can you please elaborate, Thank you really appreciate your input

You just said it bro!............ Test only @500mg pr wk for 12 wks............... PCT is not my speciality but we have plenty of info on the board regarding which is the best.......... also Ai is not my thing so you need to check that out as well, you may find you dont need it but the guys here will force feed it to you because running Ai is religion around here lol

PIN_CUSHION's picture

I think it's a good idea to learn your body and how you react to what compounds and what doses before hammering the A/I's. That's why one new compound at a time makes so much sense. I think it's a matter of how smart your cycle not how much. I don't get taking drugs to prevent side effects that you don't even know you'll get in the first place. Yes have them available, but use when needed. The less chemicals I have to use the better. Trial and error.

VIKING EVOLUTION's picture

EXACTLY............. my way of thinking!....... some say prevention is better than cure!.... i say! tanking estro unnecessarily is just a means of totally fucking a cycle up and better results could be had running creatine mono and a truck load of BCAAs........... and thats a fact ive seen it with my own eyes.

PIN_CUSHION's picture

I've come to the realization that the only supplements worth a shit other than protein, are just that.

VIKING EVOLUTION's picture

Ascorbic acid is a major part of my arsenal bro.............. that is 100% pure Vitamin C.... used correctly it ended all my need for diuretics in comp prep.. and i use it year round now for water control (due to high volume test) and the massive boost it provides to the immune system.

Colds and flu?............. wtf are they? things of the past thats what!! lol

PIN_CUSHION's picture

I've been meaning to ask you about Vit C. I know you take some mega doses when your close to hitting the stage to really dry out, but what is the range to take during a cycle to help with water? I take the basic 500 mg daily now, for immune system.

Pale's picture

I have already taken his advice on the Vitamin C. I have been doing between 2000 and 3000 per day for a couple months. I have not had a single sniffle while people all around me have been sick as a dog, matter of fact I didn't even suffer my usual end of summer allergies this year. I have also stayed pretty lean this PCT. I did have to cut back for a few days now, I started getting sores inside my mouth, no big deal, a few days off it won't hurt.

PIN_CUSHION's picture

I want to give it a try next cycle for water control. I couldn't remember those doses and at what point it gets to be to much.

VIKING EVOLUTION's picture

On cycle you will see a noted increase in cuts and vascularity if you take 500mg 3 x daily.......... you must split doses because it is water soluble and if you hit it all first thing in the morning you will just piss it out and be void of C for most of the rest of the day.

Last 10 days of prep i hit 15,000mg ED with a little potassium supp to help balance things (dizziness through dehydration if not real careful)..... bananas look after my pott normally but they are out on preps.

PIN_CUSHION's picture

Ok, thanks. I can't even imagine what your prep regimen looks like.

EVIL bro........... pure fkn EVIL!

Pale's picture

LOL, Viking is right, of course. You may be one of the lucky half that have no need for an AI, but until you get 3-4 weeks +/- into your cycle you don't know.

NoPnNoGn's picture

Yea good idea, I had already decided a doctors visit was definitely in my near future before whatever cycle I start with. Thanks for your input Bro.
And to say I am not trying to get big isn't really an accurate statement on my part. I am trying to build a lean muscular build but I want to maintain my athleticism, I don't want to be overly muscle bound. I have a lot more research to do before I make a move on this.

NoPnNoGn's picture

Well hard work is not a problem, My problem has always been to hold myself back. I have always over trained when training natural. I love working out and never gave my body enough time to rest. Ok quick question. Can I go straight to a TRT Dr. or do I have to see a GP first and get a referral.

will do thank you
