First Cycle!

ad

Recently turned 25 and I feel as if my gains are truly coming to a hault in the gym. Have been training for about 4 years religiously and also have a degree in exercise science along with physiology. I have done my research and read multiple posts before becoming a member here. My cycle would go as followed if I run one:
Test E: weeks 1-12, @400 mg/week,
Pin Monday and Thursday
AI: adex or aro, unsure yet so haven't decided dose
PCT: nolvadex and clomid for 4 weeks
Nolva: 40/40/20/20
Clomid: 100/100/50/50

If I do run this I will get bloods done since it is legal in my state to do so. Any input would be appreciated, I also posted a pic so you guys can see how I currently look.

1st Workout >>> Then Cardio

Cardio is a much better fat burner done post workout.

Doing it before your workout, you are only burning off the glycogen (carbs) you should be using to move big weight. You're not gonna burn any fat at all until about 45 min in to it doing cardio first. Done after your workout you will start burning fat after about 10-15 min.

Cardio sucks, bro, but if you want to look GREAT NAKED you have to do it right! Post Workout

Ya I get that for sure, I'll make sure to start hitting it post workout, any specific type you "enjoy" ? And for how long would you recommend?

Vary that shit!! It gets boring. To cut, I do an hour total split up any way I feel like, but no exercise bike. I can't get my heart rate in the 140s. Heart rate is what's important. I don't use any monitor other than the crappy ones already built into the machines (if they have them.)
20 min each>
treadmill at anything above 5% incline. Less than that is a joke. Hold 5lb dumbbells in your hands. Move them as you walk. Don't just let them hang there. Gets heart rate up and can use lower MPH.
elliptical
other brand elliptical (my gym has about 5 different brands of ellipticals)

What you have laid out is sound. Props for posting up a pic,I mean no disrespect when I say this, but I think your BF% is a little higher than you think. I think you should condition a little more before getting on gear. The higher your BF the more exasperated the sides will be. I think you will get much more out of your cycle if you can shape up a little more before.

Non taken man, picture isn't the best but I did get my BF% done in a bod pod a week ago actually and it was 14.8%..I understand there is +/- error so I may be a little higher...I do plan on cutting down to about 12% if I do get on, just getting info before hand!

Good deal man. Keep killin it!

Okay thank you I appreciate that and it's truly something I'm working on. I have a bad habit of skipping cardio so I have started doing it before my workouts.

It's a chore for all of us. Make sure your diet is right and your intensity is high while training and you'll burn the fat off. If you can hold off til then you'll have much better results.

With my main lifts, bench, deads, strict standing over head, and squats, I rest 3 minutes between sets. For my accessory lifts I just changed rest to 45 seconds between sets and I can already tell it's making a big difference so I'm going to continue this along with cardio and see if I can cut down

PIN_CUSHION's picture

Sounds good. When you can try and cut the rest period down to 2 mins. What's your goal for when you cycle?

TheForgotten11's picture

Well I'm more of a power lifter, I'd like to hit 1200lbs on my 3 lifts naturally, once on id like to cut a few % off body fat and increase strength and power. Resting 2 mins between my sets gets tough, I'm running the Wendler 5/3/1 and I'm on week 19 now and it's showing great results

powerlifting and cardio do not go wrll together. when you PL you are going for pure raw strength. I found when I cut my BF my lifts got weaker and I lost strength. There is a big tradeoff for wanting a body builder physique and PL'ing. You can't have both. So before you think any more about a cycle, Get yourself a clear goal of what you want out of it 1st, then whatever cycle you choose will compliment it. I PL still but will be taking a break from it to lose the babyfat and challenge myself even further. Any questions hit me up.

Got ya. I don't know to much about power lifting, but there are plenty of guys here that do.
